**Q: My compass has arrived, the inner scale (degrees) and out bezel do not line up when the compass scale is aligned to North, are They all like this**
A: Hi, I am not sure that I understand your question. On my version the two scales align correctly but are in different units. The inner one is degrees and the bezel is 64ths of the compass circle - this maps on to the full compass rose see my earlier answer. So East is 16 on the outer bezel and 90 degrees on the inner. Both scales rotate together. 

I know that some models of this type of compass have a facility to back off the magnetic declination but this would adjust both scales. My model doesn't have this function.

**Q: What are the black figures around the outside of the dial representing? I can see the degrees in red on the inside.**
A: They are mills. Mostly used by the military, 64 equates to 6400 mills which is 360 degrees

**Q: Would this compass work in the Southern Hemisphere? has it got a global needle?**
A: yes this compass will work in the southern hemisphere, hope this helps :)

**Q: Don’t the hands usually face red for north and white for south? this compass does the opposite, unless i have a duff one?**
A: My one is showing the north with the red part of hand. It is better to check up the compass being far away from electronic devices and it's good to have a couple of more different compasses at home to be sure they are showing the north.

A perfectly good compass at a very reasonable price.  I purchased four of these for my Cub Pack and they are just as accurate as the very expensive models I have seen other people with.  They include a lanyard to keep it safe and all the markings one would expect as well as key ones in phosforescent paint to aid use in the dark.  The compass also features a magnifier, a 10cm ruler, a 2" ruler and three map grid measurers.I would happily recommend this compass.

Not bad for the price, though not exactly pro quality. For the price I would definitely buy it again, but if one wants/needs something which is extremely well made and outstanding, then perhaps one would need to shop around a bit more. That does not mean that a more expensive one will necessarily be better.

Beautifully made and accurate.  My 10 year old niece loves it.Ruler is useful but should be 6 inches long at least.
