Great value - no need to buy the premium range
It was a choice between these or the premium range, and I honestly won't bother with the premium range again. The quality is excellent, these pencils blends beautifully, the colours are strong and clear, and they're lovely to use. Great value for money.

fast delivery, rich palette of colors (60), some minor issues
Those pencils were delivered to me very quickly, which is great!Overall, I would say that those pencils are very soft and pleasant to draw with. The color palette is rich and the price is fine, comparing to prismacolor premier pencils. I haven't tried the premier ones, but I'm guessing they are similar quality, but the packaging and richness of the pigment are different. But I would like to say, that two pensils don't match with the color on the paper. I don't blame the seller for that issue, but I'm also surprised that dark "violet" color looks very pale. Or that "permanent green" turned out to be very different. If you would like a cheap alternative to prismacolor premier pencils then it could be an option for you.

great quality and suitable for colour blind people!
I struggle to find pencils for my 12yr old as he is colour blind. These are really good quality and have the colour name printed on the pencil so he doesn't have to keep asking for help. Marketing tip - would be helpful if you included the words 'colour blind' in the search options!

Pros outweigh cons for me
Excellent soft application for shading really love these pencils however the wood casing doesn't seem that great the lead seems to break if I awas ply to much pressure and as other views stated the lead often falls out after sharpening. However and this is a big however these are amazing value and despite a few malfunctions I do not regret buying them

In love with this set
In love with this set! I brought this because i at first didn't want to spend loads on Prismacolor pencils, because i wasn't sure if i'd like them and thought about trying this pack out. The first day they arrived i used most of the pencils and fully enjoyed using them.I'd very much recommend buying these, even if your starting out with Prismacolor or not, they are very good pencils.

Amazing for the price
After hearing all the amazing reviews about Prismacolor, I bought some of the Premiers. I was so impressed I was all set to pay £80 for the 132 pack, but then I spotted these Scholars. I researched and many people said they couldn't tell the difference, so I thought for £30 instead of £80, worth a try. These are slightly less quality than the Premier in coverage, but it is not overly noticeable. If you want the best pencils in the world, buy the Premier, but if you want a very very good pencil for a lot less money, these are the pencil for you.

Very good
I bought these to see if they would be a cheaper alternative to the prisma premier pencils. The scholars are very soft, most have a good amount of pigment, some are a slightly different shade to the premier pencils of the same name, they are blendable and work in the same way as their expensive counterpart. Unfortunately this includes lead breakage. One of my 12 set just will not sharpen, each time I try the lead breakers. I am using a manual mechanical sharpener by Derwent not an electric one. I haven't had the problem with the other 11 pencils so maybe it's just one bad pencil but it puts me off buying a bigger set or any more premiere pencils as none of them are that cheap. I will try to sharpen this one with a knife next and see if I can get a point.
