Greatest invention on the face of the earth
If I could give this 10 stars I would. Who would have thought that a 12 volt refrigerator freezer could be this great and efficient. The inverter compressor is very quiet constantly adjusting is speed to efficiently use power. The most this device pulls is 2.5amps or 37 watts. It can easily flash freeze by dropping the temperature down to -8 F. I never have to waste my money on ice again. The fact that you donโt need ice means that you donโt need as large of a cooler. I fit more in this than my 55 gallon Coleman because I donโt need ice. I take it everywhere. If you plug it in and pre-cool it to zero and then take it on the road with the battery it will keep stuff at 30 degrees about 10 hours on a charge. Get the insulated cover it makes a huge difference in battery life. Without the cover itโs about 50% less efficient on battery power. I bought 2 batteries so I can keep Italian ices in it at -4 degrees all day. Itโs always great to bring a meat freezer with you when you buy ice cream in the summer. You can get it home without it melting. It isnโt too heavy even with food in it. Itโs easy to transport because its size is very manageable. I love the fact that it keeps your settings when you swap batteries. The interior has a wonderful lighting system that works just like a regular refrigerator. If they can make just one improvement it would be to have the battery just slide in. The cigarette lighter plug really holds tight into the battery making it difficult to pull out to remove battery. Other than that one tiny gripe this is truly the best gadget ever invented. I most definitely will buy a bigger one next year for use in my yard for partyโs because it keeps stuff real cold even opening and closing a lot. It comes with a real nice set of accessories like a car power cord and a shorter cord for the battery.

Quality item. Quiet and get very cold.
I cant say enough good things about this cooler. It fits in my V-Berth in my C-Dory boat perfectly. It can make ice but my fav thing is it produces "screamers" - which are very very cold beers. Even crap beer can taste good when that cold on a hot summer day. It is very electrically efficient and quiet too. No more buying multiple bags of ice, soggy food and cleaning up the water later. I was a Yeti guy before this one, but although Yeti can KEEP ice, this thing MAKES it for less money than many of their larger coolers. Without the need for ice, you can use ALL the room for food and drinks. BougeRV has a winner here.

Good Value, Efficient Cooler
I have had this now for about nine months now and I have to say that it works well. It brought the temperature down to below freezing within a half hour on eco mode from about 68 degrees F. This refrigerator cooler is constructed well. Has about 1 cu.ft. of space for food. It draws very little power and one EcoFlo Delta 2 or similar will run this over night with battery capacity to spare. Thatโs about 45 watts so a 1200 watt hour power station will run this for quite a while. I purchased an EcoFlo River 2 instead of the BougeRV battery pack that fits in the side compartment of the cooler, due to the EcoFlo solution being more versatile. This said, the River 2 will easily run the cooler for a three hour road trip in the car and still have plenty of capacity left. I also have an EcoFlo River 3 Plus and one of those thermal electric coolers will run the River 3 plus battery down to zero during the same 3 hour road trip. I do wish that the handles were deeper so it would be easier to carry especially when full. To compensate for that I have the cover for it which adds another 75 bucks or so to the total investment. I do believe that for the price I paid it is a good value.

One of the best pieces of kit Iโve bought
I have had this cooler for a few months now and absolutely love it. It has been camping, in the field for training, the beach, worked as a refrigerator during deployment, and on many road trips. The good: The lid is easier to open than the zipper coolers it replaced The internal light and removable divider are nice Low power draw Automatic low voltage shutdown Fairly quiet No ice requirements The not so good The carry handles on the side are shallow. (This is my biggest complaint.) The thermostat is not accurate The so-so Fridge space is limited compared to regular coolers Mine is scuffed up pretty good I highly recommend the battery pack. It is expensive but worth it

BougeRV portable fridge, corrrected
Works. Comes with A/C power supply and cigarette lighter socket cables. Easy to setup. Do not expect accurate temperature set point, it fluctuates randomly +/- 5 degrees F from your setting. EDIT: once running for half hour the temperature setting holds +/- 2F Warms up faster than advertised when unplugged, the optional Insulated Protective Cover, sold for additional $65 helps in FL heat, but do not expect miracles. Optional 277Wh "portable power station" (backup battery) to keep the fridge running when car is off, is worthless POS (and no longer available on Amazon although orderable on BougeRV website) - new out of the box will self-discharge in about 24 hrs, without any load. Chargeable only from cigarette lighter socket, charge takes hours.. Wasted $180. So far no response from the seller regarding the powerbank. EDIT: customer service provided information about the battery pack on/off feature. When the pack is switched OFF it will not self-discharge. It would help to have the manual included in the box when shipped. Response from the seller was within 24 hrs after initial contact. Cooler/battery pack works as advertised.

Excellent Fridge for Camping
Very good camping fridge. I like the cooling aggregate which is variable speed. When needing less cooling (close to target temperature) it draws less power. It is not loud or unpleasant, just a whirling hum. We had it inside the tent. The temperature sensor is on the bottom of the fridge (while cooling loops are on the side). I measured a 3.2F higher temp inside of the fridge over the set point (averaged over many hours). But that does not seem to matter, it works well in real world. Put the food/drinks back in after meal (and they have warmed up) and temperature displayed jumps up, and fridge cools down. Exactly as it should be. I always use the MAX mode to use the cooling capabilities. The ECO mode marginally reduces power consumption. Under ideal conditions (never open the fridge), @ 74F ambient (indoors no direct sunlight) with a -8F target temp it consumes 23.1Wh per hour in MAX and 20.5Wh in ECO. ECO has a higher duty cycle (on for 60% of the time vs. 50% in MAX), and the cooling aggregate apparently is more efficient at lower speeds. Improving insulation (i.e. putting a blanket over the fridge except for the vents) had a bigger effect only needing 19.5Wh per hour. Power consumption is much higher in the real world (open/close, putting food/drinks back in that are no longer as cold). I did not measure (busy camping), but I would guess 250Wh in a 24h period using it as a fridge (34F set point -- which is a bit too cold). In real-world, very good fridge! We enjoy having a real fridge and not needing to mess with ice. Friends are surprised about nice and cold beverages right on the campground. You could even have your own ice cream (using it as a freezer). Albeit, it still gets wet inside the fridge due to condensation -- we don't dry things off when putting it back. In hot and humid weather, lots of condensate forms when you take something nice and cool out of the fridge.

Nice and cold
I have now used this on a few road trips and it has worked very well and kept my items very cold. I am very happy with this purchase. The 12 volt cord has enough length to plug in at the front with the refrigerator being in the rear of the vehicle.

Highly recommend!
We bought this for a week long road trip and for future camping trips. It was a bit of an investment but we also picked up the compatible battery and the insulating cover for it. Wow, we have been extremely impressed so far! We put a thermometer in it the week before our trip and it seemed to hold steady and accurately to what it said the temp was. I felt comfortable bringing my expensive medication that needed refrigeration. We were able to have everything we needed for making sandwiches on the road for lunches, put some other snacks and things that needed to stay cool. While we traveled, it was kept in the trunk of the car, with the cigarette plug in. When we stopped, we would bring it into the hotel and plug in the wall plug adapter. My husband would normally have carried it in because Iโm smaller, but he just had shoulder surgery. I was able to easily pick it up and bring it back and forth between our hotel rooms and the car easily. Hopeful to see how well it holds up but absolutely worth it, being able to have a good mini fridge and freezer if we need it. He still was at that stage where he might have needed to keep icing his shoulder, which is one reason we wanted the freezer capability. Very handy for traveling! My only wish might be that the fridge was separate from the freezer compartments so one could have both simultaneously but still have the same amount of space. The cover does need to be bigger as it barely fits, no matter how much you tug and pull. Great investment for us though!
