Can I take in in the sea, like right in?** A: It does not appear to be waterproof. The back of the head is attached with screws. The directions say "always keep the thermometer head away from direct heat or cold." **Q: I'm looking for a quality probe for measuring running water from taps. Is this product suitable for it? If not, can you recommend an other product? Thanks.** A: I have used this probe for cooking and jam making. Jam making is very hot and steamy and I have used the probe hanging over the side of the pan with no obvious problems.
