Helped me fix a cell-phone and kept the screws from rolling away & being lost or mixed up. I used a piece of paper over top and taped it so I could write on it, but I think you can use a grease marker on the pad also. The pad doesn't slide around on the table or counter either. I keep in a small container with my tiny tools for electronics repair. A nice addition.

I wish I bought one of these a long time ago this thing works great it's got to dry erase board so I can write notes where things go when I take them apart. The magnet could be a little stronger but it does its purpose
