Keep mouth moist.
I bought these as I suffer from Burning Mouth Syndrome which frequently gives me a horrid, metallic taste in my mouth. Mint-flavoured sweets/pastilles are too highly-flavoured for my burning mouth but these pastilles are very mild yet still take away the metallic taste in my mouth. They are small enough to leave in my mouth to give me relief for quite some time before they disappear. I have ordered more and always keep them in my handbag now.

Effective and unobtrusive
For dry mouth syndrome, normal breath fresheners, even when held in the gum, don’t last long enough (especially for exercise classes), while sugar-free gum spreads and unhelpfully sticks in the gaps along the tooth line. And these “confectionary” products don’t contain the essential xylitol, which stimulates saliva production. Salivix is great for day time saliva stimulation, but I think you do need teeth to keep one in position between the gum and cheek. I suck one in my mouth initially for a short while to soften the pastille, before parking it in my gum and then make an effort to leave it there undisturbed for maximum effect. It’s very tempting to chew it, but that is not the best use of Salivix. Parked between the gum and cheek at the back of the mouth, the pastille is unobtrusive, you can talk and exercise without having to be mindful of it and it doesn’t tend to fall out of the mouth unexpectedly and embarrassingly like breath fresheners and gum might during a conversation. Salivix pastilles are beige in colour and firmly soft in texture. Best to put the flat side against a molar (I go for top rearmost) and the rounded side against the cheek, otherwise they’re uncomfortable. They become sticky and remain in place remarkably well. One can last up to 2 hours for me, if held in the cheek. They are slightly tangy in taste - there’s no obvious flavouring mentioned on the box or in the list of ingredients. One thing I notice is that my tongue is no longer coated since using Salivix, which indicates how well they’re working. Salivix doesn’t last all night and it would be great if the manufacturer made a larger lozenge just for night time. I used to use a different xylitol product (there’s only one other otc product for dry mouth in the UK as far as I can see) which does last longer at night, but it’s a hard tablet that irritates the lining of my mouth. Salivix is much kinder on the oral mucosa.

Keeps your mouth hydrated, essential if you have ‘dry mouth’.
Keeps your mouth hydrated, essential for anyone who experiences ‘dry mouth’ and/or uses a C-PAP machine.I think that the taste is good and you can also buy a variant with fluoride.

Dry mouth pastilles
Great product which has a nice flavour. They have been effective and ok value for money. The pastilles are small and can easily stick to an area of your mouth to slowly dissolve. I keep them with me at all times and they are in a handy sized box.
