The holder easily attaches (see 'Install Video') to your backpack's shoulder strap with a snap hook at the top and three rear elastic bands to provide stability when hiking. Top and bottom loop pull tabs make it easy to insert and pull water bottle out of the holder. Ultralight weight of 0.5 ounces. Holder dimensions are 4” x 9.5”. The design, material, and stitching used to produce this holder ensures it’s as functional, durable, and ultra-light weight as possible. A little about the material we use: The front and back panels are made of super durable 100% nylon mesh. The elastic straps, cording, and buckle are made from high-strength nylon. I don’t know the bottom width of a standard shaker bottle but I can tell you that the holder was designed for a SmartWater 1L bottle which is 2.75” across at the bottom of the bottle. I hope this helps. **Q: Does it stretch** A: It doesn't really stretch, but it is big enough to hold the 1 liter smart water bottle in the picture. But probably not anything wider than that. I use mine for standard half liter water bottles. **Q: Does it stretch from the sides for wider bottles?** A: The mesh part does not stretch but is big enough for the 1 liter smart water bottle in the pictures. But that is a tall narrow bottle. **Q: How do I attach the 3 rear elastic bands to the shoulder strap?** A: Thank you for reaching out. I found the first really useful to have easy access to a water bottle. I had a Smart 600mls which fits easily and an 800mls one which although tight does go in. On my first holder here is a additional pouch on the front which is great for a biscuit, but this second holder doesn’t have that. The plastic clip broke on my original so those are’t mega strong but I replaced it with a cheap carabiner clip which works fine.
