Review: Our Iceco JP PRO 50 hits the sweet spot for a family vacation portable refrigerator. - Purchased in June, 2024 after viewing many different makes and models. This unit has sufficient capacity and durability to meet most of our needs. Although it can be used as a refrigerator, we consistently use it as a freezer when transporting our frozen items from Virginia to vacation in the Adirondacks (a ten plus hour drive depending on traffic). We use it in our wheelchair accessible Sprinter by plugging it into our a/c inverter and it works reliably and very quietly during our trip. It runs off the house battery in our van for an additional twelve hours before I have to plug it into a hard wired outlet at our destination. I am glad that it can use both a/c and d/c plugs in our vehicle. It runs very quietly, so I am very glad to be able to monitor its function and temperature through the elevated system control panel. The top opens several ways, so access is quite easy. The cover fits snuggly and does not interfere with the operation of the handles, wheels, or charging points. The cover keeps the unit clean and protected, and adds another layer of insulation. It is easily unzipped to gain access to the top. When we are not travelling, we use our freezer to keep frozen treats frozen and available on our back screened porch. It is also very helpful holding leftovers from Thanksgiving and other occassions when our home freezer or refridgerator is overloaded. When it is not needed, we store it in its travel spot in the Sprinter. Given the price, capacity, reliability (flawless over two years), design, and features, I think that our Iceco JP PRO 50 hits the sweet spot for a family vacation portable refrigerator.
Review: Great refrigerator, very efficient power use - Bought this refrigerator to pair with a Jackery 1000 for a 2 1/2 week road trip to Utah from the Midatlantic and back. The fridge fit perfectly tied down behind the front seat of my access cab Tacoma (the rear seats have been removed and a flat deck installed) along with the Jackery 1000, two 100w Jackery solar panels, our clothes, some supplies, a large DeWalt radio, cold weather gear, and all sorts of other things. Truck was stuffed, but it all fit. Bed was loaded with a bed rack, rooftop tent, 23zero wrap around awning, 28 gallons of water, 10 gallons of fuel, camping chairs, a table, cookware, 20 lb propane tank, offroad recovery gear, a Yeti 65 (full of beer, didn't want to waste space in the fridge), but still enough space to fit local firewood when we camped. The fridge holds roughly a weeks worth of groceries for two people, and draws very little power. Through any given night the Jackery 1000 never went below ~87% charge running the refrigerator, and was back at full charge after just a couple hours of driving while still running the fridge set to 36°. Once we made it to Utah we spent about five and a half days in the wilderness of the San Rafael Swell running 4x4 trails and exploring, and never once did the refrigerator fail on us. Once or twice the power cable did shake loose from the rough terrain, but checking it every once in a while solved that problem. Not only was the refrigerator absolutely perfect for us and our trip out to the wilderness, we've used it a couple times with the Jackery 1000 during power outtages to save essentials and more expensive items from going bad in the house refrigerator. Overall, I couldn't recommend the JP50pro more, and can only assume any and all of Iceco's refrigerator/freezers will perform just as well. Because of the limited space in my Tacoma's access cab, I am very happy that they offer this slimmer profiled fridge that performs so well. I did purchase an aftermarket ARB 12v plug for it after reading the Iceco plug doesn't fit as snuggly as it should, and carried both during the trip in case of failure. The ARB does fit more snuggly than the plug that came with the fridge, and it still managed to shake itself loose as I mentioned. Something to consider, but again, easily mitigated by sinply checking the connection after rough patches of trail (which there is a lot of in the San Rafael Swell). Added a photo of a campsite we found to truly show how far out you can go and trust an Iceco won't let you down. We were about a day's drive into the San Rafael Swell at that point, which is another 40ish miles from the closest town, so we were pretty far out there. Thanks for reading, hope this helped.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you leave it plugged in for 24 hours 7 days a week ?**
A: I leave it running 24/7 on 2 week camping trips, either DC or AC powered if I have a hook up. On 13 volt DC power it draws 4.4 amps or 55 watts in ECO mode. It averages about 10 amp hours per 24 hours with the temperature set at 32 degrees. I use a Sun Fun Kits LFP 300AH battery in my camper and it runs the cooler, LED lights and water pump for 2 weeks no problem.

**Q: Are wheels sturdy? Will it fall off or break easy?**
A: Mine haven’t.

**Q: How to change temperature ?**
A: Thank you for your question! Please press and hold the "Power" button to turn on the refrigerator first, then you can press "+" or "-" to raise or low the set temperature. Please note that the Solid/Non-Flashing number on the display is the CURRENT interior temperature. The Flashing number is your SET temperature after adjustment.

**Q: How much does this weigh?**
A: Just under 40 pounds or 18 kilos.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ICECO stands behind their products
*by J***A on May 15, 2025*

Long overdue review of my ICECO JP50 Pro freezer. Right out of the box, it works really well. Freezes very fast and does not use a lot of electricity. Once unplugged, retains the temperature well. Lightweight and has wheels for transport, so that’s a plus. Durable and the black and stainless steel combo looks great. I’ve had mine for almost 2 yrs this August and worked fine until the thermostat malfunctioned last year. I contacted ICECO and customer service is top notch. Their warranty of 5 yrs only applied to the compressor, 1 yr for everything else but they went above and beyond and sent me a brand new replacement. Only complaint I have with this freezer is that I wish it came with a battery. Otherwise, I highly recommend this product.
