My son is big into technology and how things work. This was great for him to be able to put it together! Great price for the amount of robots that you get to build and rebuild. Works great in the sun but wish it has a battery to hold the polar power. But this is an amazing gift if you have a little one interested in technology or how things are put together/work

I personally thought it was great as a gift. However if you have an ungrateful gift recipient, then it becomes a waste of time and money! Given to a child that made his mom put it together so he could break it. 🤦‍♀️ definitely make sure the child will do the work and actually not be just a little consumer!

Our family really enjoyed building the Discovery Solar Vehicles Creation set together! The set provides instructions for 12 different vehicles. It also allows you to open up your creativity and leverage the skills you learn by building the default vehicles to piece together your own creations. My kids loved watching the finished robot (Buddy Bot 64 according to them) roll across the floor with the help of a bright flashlight, or the sun. The instructions are easy enough for our 9-year-old twins to follow on their own but too complex for our 6-year-old. Personally, I think the illustrations could be a little bigger so that the pieces are clearer. I took 1 star off because of the kit pieces themselves. You have to break every single piece out of several plastic sheets (think model airplane) upon opening the kit. This proved too difficult for my twins to do themselves and honestly was pretty annoying to me as well. I ended up snapping 2 of the pieces because they're pretty fragile but you still have to pry them out of the sheet. Overall, we were very pleased with the kit and would gladly purchase them for others as gifts, or different sets for our own kids.

I got the Discovery #Mindblown 12-in-1 Solar Robot Kit for my niece, and she absolutely loved it! Ouch, if you don't have super strong fingers, this isn't gonna be fun. There are a ton of tiny pieces to assemble. They do not go together easily. I am doing this project with a 9 year old boy and he needs help with each step. We received this as a gift so while the box makes it look fun, if you don't have the strength of a man and super duper patience, this may not be for you! Wouldn't gift this to someone.
