Plenty of cushioning for the money
I bought 2 of these mats as an alternative to normal air beds. I read various reviews and plumped for 5cm mats which I thought would do the job. I read the instructions and let them inflate a few times at home before taking them camping. They were great, they fold up fairly small to transport, a little large and heavy for hiking though I would say. It took only a few minutes to fully inflate and the depth was perfect for me. I was a little cynical in how they would perform in relation to an airbed due to quite a large depth difference.I am over 6 feet tall and around 15 stone, I found the mat to be very comfortable, It was far more comfortable than any air bed I have used, no rolling or loosing air through the night and plenty of cushioning, I personally don`t think it is worth paying more money for a deeper mat.My wife also found them to be very comfortable, normally when we go camping it is a little like " The Princess & The Pea", this time no complaints what so ever.Highly recommend

Durable, and easy to use!
This is probably the best thing I've ever bought for my camping trips, festivals and generally for sleeping on someone's floor without any other support.I've had mine for about 18 months now and probably have used it over 30 times, and barring a single puncture near the valve, I've had no other issues. I don't handle it in the most gentle of manners, and it has to put up with my ~90kg frame lying on it and it has stood up really well. It's also super easy to use, simply opening the valve to inflate, giving it a slight top up once it's full, and you're ready! To deflate, I just open the valve and fold it into sections before sitting on it to flatten it. Either way, it only takes me 5 minutes at each end to pack it up or down.Great purchase!

A Comfortable Nights Sleep Awaits
I upgraded to the Vango self-inflating mat from the run of the mill yoga like mat that most people buy for their first camping expedition. Chances are you're looking at it because you're tired from waking up during the night with aches and pains. The mat does what it says on the tin, it self-inflates efficiently and isn't too arduous to roll back up and get back in it's bag. My annual trip to WOMAD was so much better this year as a result of getting some decent sleep with not a hint of sore bones from lying on the ground, albeit on a 5mm layer of compressed foam. The one thing you should be aware of is it's not a lightweight model, I knew that in advance but I only had to get it from the house to the car to the tent pitch. If you are going to be doing a lot of hiking you'll probably want a lighter weight version, which you'll pay a little more for. However that said, assuming you don't mind carrying a little extra you'll find it's worthwhile due to the quality of sleep you'll get.For reference I'm 78Kg, if you're a bit heavier your experience may not be the same as mine but I think you'd have to be quite a bit heavier before it gets detrimental.

Great night's sleeps. Easy to use.
This is the first time I've had one of these. It's great. Much more comfortable than the alternatives.I loosen the valve before I start putting the tent up. By the time I'm done, it's ready, I just give it a few puffs to make it firm and screw the valve tight. It is quite narrow (compared to a normal bed, not to a roll mat), so if you turn over a lot in your sleep you might fall off ... but the wider it gets, the longer it is when rolled up. This and my 1 person tent fit in my cycle pannier bags (although I can't close the top)/

Too narrow
Surprisingly comfortable. My biggest problem is its far too narrow. I kept waking up on the floor. I just about fit in it whilst lying on my side but it didn't allow any room for moving around at all. As far as I know people don't sleep like we are in a coffin.

Perfect for Cubs camping
Bought for Cubs camping trip and can't fault it - very easy even for novices to inflate and deflate, and surprisingly comfortable. MUCH better than an old style foam KarriMat (that said, we did put it on top of a foam mat to give some extra insulation but not really necessary to do that). The only improvement would be for the bungee (that keeps it rolled up) to be fixed to the mat in some way as it is very easy to lose in the melee of camp breakdown! I completely recommend this if you're not sure what to get for first camping trip.

5 Star Glampng mat
A beautiful and comfortable airbed which is as comfortable as a bed matress. It keeps me of the groundsheet and irons out any bumps on the ground and is lovely and warm even on a cold night. The bed weighs just over 1.5 KGS and earlier reviews say that it might not be suitable for backpacking. I bring a light tent like a Vango blade 100 or 200 and the tent and airbed carry combined max weight to 3.6 KGS. The quality of the bed feels like it is something that will last for many years provided it is looked after.

It's ok...
I got this for my daughter (9) and she finds it comfortable and warm so I can't fault it really. Sleeping bags don't grip the surface of it very well (not the mats fault but still a problem, I'm going to try using a sleeping bag liner on the outside of the sleeping bag next time). I find it bearable, a little narrow for me, still way better than an air bed (no cold coming through, quiet, no deflating, no sinking/rolling every time you move) - it's not a patch on my 10cm version though :-D
