I have got the 75/10 charge controller with Bluetooth and the app works. Does this smart dongle provide more data, what would I gain?

You gain if the Bluetooth in your device is blocked. The remote dongle can be placed for better coverage , as well as using it for VE.Direct none Bluetooth devices.

For installation into my mppt 75/10, do i just plug it in? there's a little black piece of plastic in the ve direct socket, should that be removed?

What do i now as it has stopped working? my phone still sees the bluetooth connectiom. i tried uninstall and reinstall app.reset bluetooth. no diff

From where you bought it and which device connected to it, is it MPPT? make sure you phone is connected to WiFi Internet then plug in the bluetooth dongle to device and wait until it upgrades the firmware.

How long is the cable on this?
