The Fault in Our Stars

A real tear-jerker of a film, though not overly sentimental (go figure). To quote Sugarscope on the sleeve, "Five stars. We'd give it six if we could." I totally concur. A masterpiece of a movie. This package comes with a Blu-ray disc (5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio) and an extended version (although at 127 minutes it's the same runtime as the blu-ray) on DVD (5.1 Dolby Digital). Although it also claims to include a Digital HD Ultraviolet download, the code to reclaim that expired at the end of 2017. Despite that, it's extremely good value.

Initially I was wary of the emotional minefield ahead but The Fault In Our Stars is more than just a cancer story. Definitely one of the lovliest, most moving films that I have seen. One of those films, where from the cover alone, you can't really determine too much in terms of guessing what the content may be like. Which I often find are the best. This very modestly delivers one of the most moving, thought provoking performances. I have bought this many times for friends. As someone who has lost someone who was extremely close to me in life, I empathised with this film whole heartedly. However the acting is so strong alone, that if you haven't personally been affected by this life altering subject, you feel as though you are connected with the characters and are experiencing the journey with them. I would recommend that everyone watches this, it's a film that certainly stays with you.

I bought this for my partner for Christmas after seeing an advert for it on YouTube. I'm not a fan of love stories being a guy I love my comedies and action etc. however hands down one of the best films I have ever seen ever. It's very believable.the acting is spot on and the story itself is deep and unforgettable. I was hoping it was not going to be farfetched like the notebook. Thank go it was not. Had me in tears as much as I tried to hold them back. Fellas trust me it's a hit with the ladies. Simply beautiful

I got the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital edition. It was advertised as used but when it arrived it was still sealed, so it was new. The digital code 'expired' in 2017 but I tried it and it still worked. The movie is amazing as it displays hope and is an amazing love story for everyone to enjoy. The 4 bonus photos are a bonus and it love them so much. For all 3 formats of the film for £1.60, I would highly recommend it for everyone around the ages of 12 to 30.

This was such a good movie

I had already seen this film and I loved it so I wanted to buy it on dvd. When I chose the delivery options I didn't want to pay for quicker delivery so I just chose 3-5 day delivery and to my surprise it came today - which is thhe next day - I ordered this late at night and it came he next day with my other post! I am really happy with this and surprised at the quick delivery and I would definitely tell you to just chose standard delivery instead of paying for it! It wasn't damaged and everything was fine! A must buy! Best film ever! Just don't forget your tissues!

Bought this for my wife as she seemed to like the book! However 3/4s of the way through the book this feeling had changed to a dissapointment. I was shocked how her thoughts on the book had changed and had already bought this dvd for her birthday. The great news is that she like me really enjoyed the film and thought the acting was superb. My wife felt that the film conveyed alot more feeling into it and therefore kept her enthrauled. We have even lent and recommended this to friends. Happy watching guys!

Super film

Ich muss zugeben, dass ich am Anfang sehr skeptisch war und einen großen Bogen um den Film gemacht habe wegen des Krebs-Themas. Nicht weil es mir egal ist oder unangenehm, sondern weil ich da selbst Erfahrungen in der Familie gemacht habe und es daher für mich eher ein Thema ist, was mich trauriger stimmt. Da aber so viele positive Bewertungen zu hören und zu lesen waren, sah ich ihn mir dann mit einer Freundin an die diesen Film bereits gekauft hatte. Ich muss sagen, der Film war wirklich sehr gut und ich habe es keinen Moment bereut ihn anzusehen. Deshalb habe ich ihn mir auch gleich gekauft, zusätzlich ebenfalls das Buch. Zum Film kann ich so viel sagen das die Schauspielerische Leistung sehr gut war und auch das Thema -Krebs- und das was mit den Betroffenen selbst und deren nahestehenden Menschen passiert sehr gut reflektiert hat. Sehr gut hat mir auch gefallen, dass nicht alles nur in ein negatives Licht gestellt wurde, sondern auch das 'positive' trotz des Leidensweges gezeigt wurde. Wie zB. dass verlieben, Freundschaften, Familie usw. Aber auf der Gegenseite auch das Leiden, der Schmerz und die Angst die empfunden wird wurde gut rüber gebracht. Man konnte sich gut hineinversetzen und hat wirklich mit-'gefiebert' das alles gut geht oder beide Hauptdarsteller noch ihre Wünsche bzw Ziele erreichen können, obwohl ihr Schicksal bereits besiegelt ist. Außerdem wurden leidvollere Momente auch nicht gescheut und als 'Zuschauer' hat man wirklich einen Einblick bekommen, wie es für die Betroffenen ist, wenn man diesen Weg geht. Und auch das oft die mit der Krankheit selbst, viel leichter damit abschließen können bzw das akzeptieren können als die Leute im engsten Umfeld. Also alles in allem wurde das Thema sehr gut getroffen. Die Leistungen der Schauspieler waren sehr gut und sie waren auch sehr sympatisch gewählt so dass der Film gut anzusehen war. Ich kann ihn nur jedem empfehlen. an alle die auch das Buch lesen möchten, würde ich empfehlen erst den Film und dann das Buch. Denn mich persönlich hat es nach dem Film sehr gereizt noch mehr Details zu erfahren weshalb ich das Buch in 2 Tagen durchgelesen hatte.

I was lucky enough to receive free tickets to this movie. I was not really expecting anything spectacular (SPOILER ALERT), especially with Ansel and Shailene play brother and sister in another movie. I also must say I had not yet read the book. ( I know not the way to go about it. Books should always be read before seeing the movie.) All of this is to say that this movie is one of the best movies, I have ever seen. This is cliché to say but I laughed and cried. I cried more the second time I watched it. Chick Flick or not everyone should see this movie. Now about the Blue-ray extras, I am a little disappointed. I was hoping to have more behind the scene videos, seeming you can find so many on youtube. For me have the fun is the extras. When I went to buy the Blue-ray on Amazon there were two options, one with a gift and one without. I was unsure which would be the official DVD or were they both? Unfortunately, asking Amazon, directly was no help. I am please with the one I got but wonder if the other would have been "better": more extras, etc… The five star rating is for the Movie and not so much the Blue-ray, I would give the Blue-ray 3 1/2 stars.
