Great quality and excellent value for money

I got this on a whim for someone and it smells absolutely amazing. It has a very old fashioned scent about it but lasts ages. The bottle is really nice too, it survived a flight and didn't leak. It has a very fresh scent about it and it really is a lovely gift.

I used to love the smell of the 4711 original eau de cologne, but, it really should just be called scented water, because, as soon as it dries the scent is gone, but, it used to be lovely while it lasted; the aftershave has no better longevity, obviously, so, if all a man requires is an astringent to apply after wet shaving, I'd recommend either all natural Witch Hazel or an aftershave lotion that contains nothing but alcohol and natural menthol crystals, and the choice of either will, frankly, depend on your age and overall Bravery and Pluck. 😁

Nice scent but it just doesn't last long. It's okay for daily use but not something you would wear in evening or to impress.

I've gone through a few bottles of this over the years and decided to buy my 17 year old son one as a stocking filler for Christmas this year (yes it's that time of the year again!). I couldn’t mention 4711 without saying it is the quintessential and the original- eau de Cologne. The recipe has barely altered in hundreds of years. Here we have lavender - rosemary - neroli - bergamot - lemon and orange. The initial application does tingle a freshly shaven face but that soon dissapates to leave a very nice fresh clean crisp scent. I often splash a tad of this about just out of the shower before bedtime. It doesn’t last long on the skin at all, but a quick re-splash will top up this lovely fresh fragrance and at this price for 100mls it's almost cheap enough to bathe in! I love it. A must have in your fragrance collection.

Lovely mellow slightly woody smell. Really tones the skin, best for crisp spring/autumn months when the temperature is on the change. Too much for winter, it'll dry and chap your skin instantly, and torture on open pores in the summer. The scent soon fades to a nice background noise to my usual l'eau by Biotherm (which goes on my chest, not my face). Both really nice fresh smells, and compliment rather than overpower and confuse. Looks great on the shaving shelf too. If you like this, try and get hold of some Proraso aftershave splash (not the cream). I couldn't find it here, but happened on some in the basement of a department store in Germany where it cost a few euros. Same sort of thing, but minty.
