This is a lovely little camera that works beautifully. The IR lights are on all of the time for some reason although for next boxes, this is not a problem. The image sensor is quite sensitive to IR so objects that reflect a lot of it (such as black tee-shirts, for example) will appear weird. There is no IR cut so instead of IR-only or RGB-only, it is IR,RGB all of the time - not really a problem, just something to be aware of. The image quality is commensurate with those on shop cctv systems and the view is nice and wide - well-suited to bird box use. Being advertised as a 'bird box camera' you might expect the lens to focus down to maybe 5cm at the closest. That is but nothing. Taking this lens well beyond its design specification, it will focus down to 1mm or thereabouts (the quality at the edges starts to fade a little by then but who cares when you can do this and the front of the lens starts to come into focus). I played around with this and with a ruler, the full screen width was 4mm, that is, 4mmx3mm view. Taking a piece of moss from the shed roof, we saw the tiny insects there in pretty good detail. Forget those expensive microscopes for getting kids interested in science, get one of these cameras - far more fun. The cable is very good quality - a lot better than the others that seem to be around - as it is fairly thick. In all, an excellent bird box camera but you can use it for casually looking at things very close up if you wish.

For the price this little camera is impressive. It was perfect for what I needed. A small camera that is hard to spot. Great picture and excellent sound. Night vision needs some improvement but overall 👍

A little fiddly to focus, however does what it's meant for. The camera casing is already heating up, quite hot not long after being plugged in? I'm not sure if that's ok. Strong metal outer casing.

Bought for a nest box. Works well and there is a focus feature which adds value. Sound quality fine. Runs slightly warm which makes me wonder how it will last: but ok so far. Obviously you will need a power supply as it comes without one.

Not too happy with this camera, First one was purchased in a nest box kit and lasted about a week before packing up, another ws purchased, identical but from a different supplier and refitted into the nest box - it lasted about three days before failing.Unfortunately both times the return period had expired due to the time it takes to site the net box and get 'visitors'
