Tapo C225 2K 4MP Pan/Tilt Indoor Security Camera Privacy Shield CCTV Camera

I installed one of these indoors for some friends as a general pet monitoring device. The unit is beautifully neat and sits happily on a worktop or shelf. Setup was pretty easy, after installing the app, and after some tests and trials we homed in on the settings we wanted. The AI detection of humans versus animals, seems to work as do the notifications based on motion or audio. It did a great job of detecting barking for instance. Video quality seems perfectly fine for its application and the pan and tilt etc do work remotely via the app. Several people can get notifications and live view with the app but only one of those will be the master with access to the full settings for any changes etc, you choose how you do this at install time. Can't speak for reliability but other reviews seem positive, I was very impressed for the price paid, also no subscriptions when using microSD card to record any events, there's a paid cloud service I believe.

Excellent picture quality, really easy to adjust with the app. So easy to use. Has motion detection, baby detection and camera tampering detection. Also has 2k picture.

Really happy with this camera! I use it to keep an eye on my cat’s comings and goings through the cat flap. Very easy to set up and the app is easy to navigate. You can set it for different alerts like meowing. It’s pretty good at differentiating types of motion. I have an SD card to record play back events, so no subscription required. The night vision is excellent and the pan and tilt which you can operate remotely is very useful. I have mine set up quite far from the router but the connectivity works just fine with minimal glitching. Gives me peace of mind if I’m away and is excellent value for money. Really glad I bought this.

Download app from store. Just make sure you get the official app from TP-Link (search for TP-Link rather than just Tapo). Easy to set up (watch a youtube video) first. Very easy to operate and the picture quality is very good. Motion detection notifications can be a pain but voice notification is easily turned off. All in all - I recommend.

The package arrived promptly by courier in new condition as described.The installation and user instructions required guidance from the internet.When installed the camera is easy to use with a good field of view as it also tracks movement day or night vision.Have only one Tapo C210 set up so cannot compare it's compatibility with other camera's but adjustability,zoom and battery life are good.Good value for money.

The camera has a low profile and is quite small and lightweight, so you can stick it upside down using the 3M adhesive. You don't even need to drill any holes. The app allows you to automatically flip the image, so you can still see everything the right way up. The video quality is good, and 2K is more than enough. You can also choose a lower resolution to save on storage space and network bandwidth. The only thing that isn't great is the software, which could definitely be improved. I would also like the option to save videos to a cloud service of my choice, but obviously, they would rather keep you subscribed to their own service. All in all, you can't really ask for much more at this price, though.

I actually was shocked when I first opened the app The set up and usability is fantastic - even for someone who is non-technical. It was up and running within minutes. Everything functions so smoothly and for use as a baby monitor, it gives real peace of mind as the connection is encrypted so hackers are no longer a worry Overall, this is a GREAT camera for any type of home use with a price point you cannot argue with

Excellent camera and great value for money. It was very easy to set up and connect by following the instructions, and the Tapo app is very effective. The response time is only a few seconds, and as soon as someone enters, I receive an alert straight away. I’m really impressed with this little camera. You also get a month’s free subscription, which is a nice bonus. The main difference between subscribing and not subscribing is that with the subscription, the camera automatically records and saves footage as soon as an alert is triggered. Without a subscription, you receive the alert on your phone, but you have to manually start recording from the app. Overall, I’m very impressed with it and would definitely recommend it.

Really like this Tapo camera. Slightly better video quality than most other brands of the same class. The main bonus with this is that you can view video with the standard via App method plus Tapo offers direct connection using for example VLC player or connecting to your local video recording hardware, no internet required. In addition the price is very well competitive to other brands with less features.
