This is a really good product. I stopped leaving reviews - too time consuming. Yet I feel compelled to compliment this coffee distribution/de-clumping tool. I am not receiving any benefit other than being satisfied with this item. Delivered quickly. Great protective packaging-impressive. The entire base with top sits attractively and unobtrusively on the counter by my espresso machine. The base is heavy and stable. The top which contains the pins for distributing the coffee, fits easily and quickly into the base after each use. The pins and pattern of the pins make the distribution/de-clumping quick and easy. At first, I thought the pins might be too fine (too small gauge) but they work great. I had been using a wood skewer (for grilling) by sharpening one end with a knife into a point and then stirring the grounds. This tool works faster and more efficiently and, distributes more evenly than my home-made tool. The only alternative I considered was one reviewer’s wry suggestion to just push some sewing needles into a cork for the distribution tool. That would work just fine but, it wouldn’t look so good on the counter or complement my top quality espresso machine, grinder, tamper, scale, etc. Well worth the price.

Very happy with the tool. My first experience using a WDT tool. Really helped my shot quality. I like the stand it comes with. I don't find it that hard to place back in the stand. If anything a slight inward push on the needles and goes in. The number of needles make it easy to use. The size is convenient for use and doesn't take up much room. I keep it next to my grinder. The extra needle set is great. Highly recommend.

A cheap but effective WDT.

This is my first WDT and I'm fairly new to espresso making. I'm using a Cafelat Robot and Lido 3 hand grinder which seems to be a fairly "high end" manual system ( I wasn't about to spend a lot of money on an electric system, but wanted some degree of flexibility. I've read that this can become a "hobby" and I see why.) Anyway, this tool seems to do the job well for a good price. My only complaint is that the tool & base combination is only a loose fit. I understand that for ease of use that is a good thing, but for storage or transport, it would be better if it was designed to allow it to be snapped into place - I'm sure a clever engineer could do that and still maintain the ease of use.

This is used nearly daily, it’s been about a month, and I haven’t noticed the needles falling out. I didn’t research if these needles were the right size for perfectly distributed coffee, but it breaks up my clumps very easily and efficiently. I made a lot of changes for my new espresso machine that have improved my coffee, and I would guess this would definitely be one of them. If you buy a WDT tool, I did my research and I can’t complain about this one that I bought. It even came with replacement needles. Would buy again. It feels nice, and I even wipe the needles after each use with a wet and then dry towel, and they still stay in place. You can bend them if you want them angled or straight.

I did not expect the stand and handle to have such a nice weight to them, the stand does not tip or move it all when I am getting the distributor in and out. The tool itself also works great, and it even comes with extra needles if you need to replace them. Truly feels like a much higher quality item than the price would have you think.

I've had my espresso machine for over a year, probably averaging 2 shots per day. I have a bottomless porta filter and have been using the hand/table tap method and then tamp. I have a mid tier flat burr grinder and I would multiple times a week get shots where I would get some obvious channeling, squirting in multiple directions out the bottom. My extraction times varied on the same grind setting from 23-32 seconds (mostly in the middle somewhere) so things weren't always the same. I for this WDT and bent the needles out a little bit because they were a bit close. My extractions have all been exactly 27 seconds and no channeling at all. It has made my shots a lot less bitter tasting and has overall improved the quality. The handle is high quality machined aluminum with a high quality aluminum stand. It looks nice next to my machine unlike the 3D printed ones. 10/10 would recommend if you're on the fence about it, or just want to improve the quality of your espresso.

Excellent tool. My espresso now tastes great. The design of this tool allows for correct distribution of fine fluffy espresso grinds. I have used the tool with 10 needles and am able to get 21.5g into a 21g basket without overflowing the basket. I have pulled back to back shots and the shot times are consistent. I was using a tool that sat on the basket and rotated, the hand tool does a far better job.
