Wildlife World LBT Ladybird Tower

Beautifully made and really well crafted. I can’t say I’ve seen many ladybirds using it yet, but I’m hopeful they’ll eventually find it and make it their home. It looks great in the garden and I’d love them to move in and help keep my plants healthy. A lovely decorative piece with the potential for real wildlife benefits.

Extremely well made and the attention to detail is magnificent. Hopefully I'll get some"lodgers" soon.

I suppose this has been a waste of money as no ladybirds (or other insects for that matter) have been near it or inside of it yet. I placed it next to a climbing rose that always has a small aphid attack hoping it would encourage insects to make it their home with a good food source nearby making it a natural aphid remover and would save me the time of spraying the rose. In a perfect world eh? The little tower looks lovely in the garden. It’s of a decent quality and hopefully one day it will be used.

So this product arrived superbly packaged. (lots of packing in the box to prevent any damage during transit. You have to unscrew what turns out to be the 'ground spike' from the main body of this tower and insert it in the hole underneath. This is all easily achieveable. I bought this for two reasons, I have just taken down a large tree which contained many ladybirds so wanted to give them somewhere to live in, and also I thought my nieces would find it an added attraction as I am also getting chickens (and in time, a beehive and butterfly home, etc). So, as I worked in the garden and was cutting up logs I made the effort to place any ladybirds I found on the tower. It wasn't easy - they seem to prefer the warmth of your hand! Anyway before long I had placed around six or seven on it and left them to their own devices. It was quite surprising when this morning (a nice warm one with the sun shining on the tower) to see six ladybirds 'sunbathing' at each little sun-facing window! I then popped a few more on and it seems to be going well so far! My only real criticism if I had to pick one would be that the wood doesn't appear to be treated so it may be worth just giving it a coat of something (just on the roof) prior to popping it outside - also remember to get it in the sun for the ladybirds to get their sunbathing in!! A nice little attraction and I can see myself getting another one in the not too distant future. I have also added a couple of my own photographs for others to see.

I ordered one of these for my mum. It was so beautiful and of such good quality I decided to order one for myself too. But the second delivery was really bad quality. The wooden base was chipped, the roof pieces weren't flush with each other and glued had seeped out everywhere where the ladybirds had been stuck on. So one extremely good product and one of very poor quality. So it depends on the skill on the individual making it. Not sure I would risk buying another one.

This ladybird house is an attractive addition to my garden. Although despite adding honey to the holes, and placing among the flower beds, it is yet to attract any ladybirds. I have tried poking through the holes, however, some appear to be misaligned, so I'm not sure if the ladybirds could in fact shelter in the internal cylinder. I had separately ordered ladybirds on a separate website, which I had hoped to provide shelter with this house, unfortunately they did not arrive, so I can't comment whether they would stay there. Although I have seen a couple of ladybirds in my garden , just nowhere near the house. But it is a sturdy construction and the stake makes it easy to setup in the ground. The decorative ladybirds are a little twee, but look quite cute from a distance.

Made of natural material, looks solid enough. It’s really decorative for the garden. The ground spike is screwed behind the ladybug tower and it is quite easy to detach it with a screwdriver. I hope the ladybugs in our garden will enjoy their new “party center”. :-)

E' arrivata entro il termine di consegna in una scatola ben imballata. Presenta anche un laccetto che io ho utilizzato per appenderla all'albero. Le istruzioni sono in inglese (su come è fatta e dove posizionarla). Subito pensavo non ci fosse il paletto per il posizionamento a terra ma poi scopro che è ben fissato sul retro della casetta. Metto 5 stelle perché molto bella esteticamente, le coccinelle già applicate danno un bellissimo effetto di colore. Per la reale efficacia aspettiamo di vedere se arrivano le coccinelle vere.

The LadyBird House is pretty cool! It is made of wood with a few screws in it to hold the roof on. It looks just like the images provided by the seller. It comes with its own wooden pole. The pole is attached to the house with a long screw. Just unscrew it with a Phillips, tap it into the ground and sit the house onto of it (there is a hole on the bottom of the house). The roof is made of thick wood and functions to help with water runoff. There is no way to open the house to insert a ladybug nest; however, there are several holes that the ladies can crawl up into when they are looking for a local hostel. I really love this house. It looks nice in the flower bed and I am hopeful the ladies in the neighborhood will stop by to check it out.

Hab dieses kleine, sehr schöne Marienkäfer - Häuschen gesehen und mich sofort verliebt. War auch gerade im Preis runtergesetzt. Gestern bestellt, heute geliefert, Stab angebracht ( wenn jemand den Stab sucht, er ist hinten angeschraubt ) und dort in den Boden, wo man es haben möchte. Einfacher geht es nicht. Bei mir in einem Blumenkübel, der auf dem Fenstersims steht. In der Küche im Fensterrahmen habe ich jedes Jahr Marienkäfer, die dort überwintern ( siehe Foto ). Mal mehr, mal weniger, sind dann aber auch schon mal an die 7 - 8 Stück in der Küche unterwegs. Als ich das hübsche Marienkäfer - Häuschen gesehen habe, wusste ich, das es genau das richtige für die kleinen Käfer ist. Habe die 3 Marienkäfer, die momentan im Rahmen saßen vorsichtig runtergenommen und aussen ans Häuschen gesetzt, 2 sind rein gekrabbelt , der 3. schaut sich das erst einmal von aussen an. Es waren zwar mehr Marienkäfer, aber ich denke, bei dem schönen Wetter, das wir im Moment haben, sind die anderen unterwegs. Kein Wunder, bei dem komischen Wetter zwischen kalt und Schnee bzw. Sonnenschein und um die 7 - 8 Grad wissen die Insekten und auch die Vögel garnicht mehr : ist jetzt schon Frühling oder noch Winter ? Meine Wildvögel inspizieren auch schon jeden Tag die Nistkästen. Aber jetzt haben die Marienkäfer einen sehr schönen Rückzugsort, sollte doch noch ein Wintereinbruch kommen. Ich würde es jederzeit wieder, auch für den regulären Preis kaufen.
