Pela 2000
I ordered this pump as I can't remove the sump plug on my Ford KA. I used it today to change the oil through the dipstick tube and I am very happy with the results. The pump was easy to set up and use, instructions were clear and operation was simple. I wondered if it would be painfully slow to drain a car's sump, but I had plenty of time to do it and so I took my time over a couple of hours. I did have to plunge the pump fairly frequently as time went on but it wasn't a big problem. The oil flowed quickly having started the operation about 10-15 minutes after switching the engine off. Although the container isn't clear it was pretty easy to see the level of the oil. One thing to note is that I used a small ladder to set the container on, as with the hose fully into the dipstick tube, the hose didn't reach all the way to the ground. Not much hassle as far as I'm concerned. Overall I'm totally satisfied with this product and would say it's worth the money.

Gets the job done
I first bought the cheaper Silverline model, which was a complete waste of time. The hose that inserts into the dip stick tube that is included with the Pela is a rubber coated steel coil - it drops straight in and gets right to the bottom of the sump. The cheaper makes only have clear pvc tubing, which bunches, curls and fowls when trying to insert. I couldn't even get that tube half way in, and I would worry about it snagging and potentially breaking off inside the engine if it ever did reach the sump. If you want to make the job simple this is a good choice. It's only a small capacity, but it's easy to pour out the oil part way through.

Easy to use
I had borrowed one of these and so impressed that I bought my own. I had a Jerry rigged thing that used a Henry hoover to extract oil With this you can set up, get the vacuum drawing oil and go away and leave it, which is useful for an engine which hasn't been run and the oil is cold. I would recommend.

This thing is great! I changed my sailboat engine oil in record time and almost perfectly cleanly with this. Tips: Make sure the oil is warm, otherwise it doesn't work very well. It's a very long tube to extract the oil through. After use, clip the hose to something high up so it's at full extension, allowing all the oil to drain. Shove a small plastic tube on the bottle side of the tube connection so the extracted oil flows into the bottle without getting the fitting dirty.

This product worked perfectly for extracting engine oil fro m our car when I slightly overfilled it when changing the oil.

Have used ten times for mower oil to snowmobile chain case oil. Slow but does the job very well. Used in my farm tractor but had to empty it twice so bestfor small engine servicing

Works great no issues with the quality. Keep the box as it makes it much easier to store, but you will need a bag to store the wand in

This works and I changed the oil in a mower without a drop of oil hitting the garage floor. I think I may never open a 2 cycle oil change plug again. It is slow. You need to be patient and prime several times. The pump is friction fit on the reservoir. It came off numerous times, so I had to hold it on while pumping. Not perfect, but does the job well.
