Solsop Pass Through RJ45 Crimp Tool Kit Cat7 Cat6 Cat5 Crimper

This was the first set of cables that I've crimped in about 25 years, and I am so impressed with the ease of use of this kit. Three existing long cable runs out of three crimped correctly the first time. I adjusted the crimper for CAT5 and pretty much followed the instructional video. Very impressed with how easy it is to be confident in your crimping with this tool - by the time you commit to crimping you're absolutely sure that all the wires are in the right place. The bonus was the cable tester, which allowed me to double check and quickly work out which cable was which. I had none of the problems mentioned with wire cutting - probably because I had adjusted the crimper for CAT5. Great value for money - I would definitely recommend.

A solid tool that’s easy to use. A small tip, find the right rotation direction for using the cable stripping bit and don’t clamp too hard as it can start to cut the actual wires. Spare blade supplied is a nice touch and the cable tester is a godsend. Like its ability to lock on closed for storage. Need to have a PP9 battery for the tester as it’s not supplied. Finally, strip off more than absolutely necessary as it makes fitting the wires into the connectors far easier. The clamping system then neatly cuts off the excess.

Really pleased with this, how I wish I had bought it before! I've had an ethernet kit with crimping tool and connectors for years, but as anyone who has tried to wire up an RJ45 plug or equivalent will tell you getting all 8 cores to line up correctly and properly into a "closed end" plug can be tricky. This is especially true for newer (Cat 5e and later) ethernet cable using twisted pairs, those pairs really *love* staying twisted and going into the wrong holes. A pass-through plug makes this so much easier since you can feed the cores through the plug individually, pull it all tight to the position you want, then crimp and cut using this tool. It makes the job almost trivially easy, you get it right first time. This also came with a little tester which probably works but I didn't try using it. The best test is to plug it in then try the speed using a computer. Highly recommended.

Great bit of kit, and essential if you want to do some DIY ethernet connections like i am. It is tricky to get the wired pairs in the connector in the right order and it took me a few tries to get my first successful termination. This where the diagrams and tester come into their own. The cable stripper is good and once you have done fiddly bit of wiring your supplied RJ45 connector, the tools crimp and cut works really well. Using CAT 6 cable i have succesfully created a ethernet LAN connection to my 4K tv and PS5 using this pack and a 1gig switch

Really useful little kit and great having plenty of connectors with the tool. The tester is also a nice little plus and helped me out where I had inadvertently swapped two wires - the eyes aren't what they used to be!

Good tool easy to use, just need to make sure the individual strands are perfectly straight before trying to insert them into the plug. I also find it better to strip back about 5cm so that if I don't get all the strands in the correct locations I can switch individual wires.

I have made way to many Ethernet cables over the last 10+ years, but none recently until a few days ago, when I used this kit for the first time. The results and ease of use exceed my hopes - as making cables, or just replacing the connectors on current cable is not my favorite task in all of networking. 1. The supplies (cable ends/hoods) are well made, and fulfilled their roles perfectly. I have used open ended pass through connectors before, and they make everything so very much easier. The included ones are very well made, and worked perfectly the first time, in each case I used them. If I can, I'll be recording new supplies of these exact connectors and hoods from THIS same supplier. 2. The included cable tester is basic, no fluff, but worked perfectly to validate the continuity and proper ordering of the wires in each end. This is all that's needed in most situations, and perfectly met the goals. If you need a fancier more thorough test meter, get one, but for most situations, this is all that's needed, and perfectly compliments the rest of this kit. 3. The crimp/cutter tool worked perfectly (I followed the directions!), and produced perfect results in each use. (If you find the stripper isn't tight enough for your cable, rotate the cable slightly while in the cutter.) The included instructions are.... not all they could be. If you have done this work before, they will be adequate containing both A & B wiring standards, and decipherable use instructions. If you have never done this work before, be patient with yourself - these instructions are not 'hand holding' enough for total novice. Note to the seller: Do you sell additional supplies (Identical connectors/hoods) separately? Casual users don't need 100's at a time, and what you provide in this kit should last a while for the casual user. Would I buy this kit again/recommend it? 100% YES.

Handy crimping kit with crimps and covers. The crimps allow the wire to extend through the end so it is useful for the novice user.
