Good quality item - works well for me!
This is a good quality item, I just purchased my second one when a nasty wind storm took out a cheap one I had. You have to remember that the instructions say to HANG it for weather protection, but POLE MOUNT as a baffle. So if you hang it, there is no guarantee of keeping away squirrels. I do however use one hanging with a squirrel-proof feeder and luckily that deters most squirrels.

Exactly what I've found to mostly work. The shield will tilt if a marauder attempts to get on it.
I've had this model for years, but it got cracked in shipping and finally shattered the other day. This was the exact replacement. Metal suspension hooks for strength to handle a full feeder and wind buffeting. Clear plastic shield to be unobtrusive in appearance. What more is there to say - it works well enough and for a plastic (acrylic?) item will last many years outside. PS. It will not deter the most talented acrobatic squirrels. I've built my own out of sheet aluminum, larger, tilting, capsicum oil where they would gnaw, etc. Fewer squirrels got past it, but there are always one or two who are gifted acrobats and can get past whatever non-injurious method I "threw" at them.

great cover
we had 2 former identical ones and the hooks were in 2 pieces which screwed together and would come apart after the feeders were used by the birds. these new ones have the hooks as one unit and is so easy to use and all protect our feeders from the rain and snow. these are the only ones that we found that are 16in and cover all our feeders and will buy these again if we add more feeders. keeps the birds out of the weather while feeding and has attracted more birds

shield
This works perfectly. It covers the feeder to keep rain off but lets the orioles and occasional hummingbird see and be seen. They can easily reach the feeder without this getting in the way

Great weather/squirrel protection for hanging gizmos
I got this in an abundance of caution when we set up the "squirrel-proof" bird feeder pole (also from Amazon) my wife got us for my birthday. Despite fervent and sometimes hilarious attempts, no squirrel has made it past the springy "squirrel blocker" device that came with the pole. But there is a tree overhead, and we knew it was only a matter of time before the clever rodents attempted an attack from above. I trimmed the tree, and the (non) flying squirrels have had no luck, so I assumed that issue was done and actually installed this clear dome over a set of windchimes we hung from one of the four arms of the feeder pole as a bit of weather protection (note: this item adds length to anything you hang below it, so you have to be careful you don't actually put the feeder youโre protecting within reach of the ground). I'm glad we got it, because the furry little tree pirates have still tried diving (longer jump now) onto the windchimes as a platform from which to attack the feeders. They have failed spectacularly. Itโs really a little unfair because the dome is transparent, and animals don't really "get" transparent, solid objects. So there has been some undignified splatting of our squirrel friends as they kowabunga from deep in the tree aiming for the windchime, only to hit this devious, invisible shield, bouncing and scrabbling to an inevitable fall. Soft grass below, so no harm except to their chittering squirrel egos. I do think the design of this item could do with an adjustment so that you can hang things closer below --- just an adjustable hanger would do it. And while I like the look of the clear, tough plastic material, some may consider it a mean joke to brave skydiving rodentia who find themselves colliding with an invisible forcefield when they're only trying to cop some bird seed. But it's a good, solid item overall, so let's say 4 "invisible anti-squirrel forcefield" stars. Sounds about right.
