Review: Revolutionise your toasties! - We had a typical 2-sandwich toastie machine that died a death recently and this is our replacement. Chosen to enable us to include paninis in our toastie repertoire, we didn't actually plan on using it for anything but sandwiches. In fact, so far, we have used it to 'dry fry' several things successfully (however my main angle is still sandwich-toasting...). It is bulky (but that means that you can toast 4 rounds of toasted sandwiches at the same time (entire family happy). It heats up extremely quickly and toasts a sandwich in around 5 minutes. There are loads of height settings enabling you to alter the pressure, 'squish' applied to your sandwich so you could do a multi-decker or a skinny sliced-bread version equally efficiently. It is so easy to wipe clean: simple washing up liquid/water is all I've used so far (owned it for several months). When opening it fully, the lid handle only just clears the bottom edge of my wall cabinets above; you will need about 47cm clearance to swing it fully open or, alternatively, a different worktop area with no overhead obstacles. I have to counterbalance some of the previous negative reviewers: The build quality of my machine is, like all Sage products, exceptional. The little slotted scraper fits the grooves perfectly; it isn't designed to be used perpendicular to the surface, you need to insert it at an angle which allows you to apply extra pressure to the ridges, scraping them perfectly clean... Don't hesitate to buy this machine provided you have a decent-sized storage space for it... Review: This is a great countertop press/grill - This is a great countertop press/grill. I've been searching for a replacement for my Australian Breville press for some time, turns out Breville in the UK is an entirely different brand and Sage is the name used here. It heats up quickly, nice large cooking surface, good nonstick grills and easy to clean. My only gripe is that the top plate is a 'grill' instead of a flat surface so you can't get a truly flat press for things like bacon, but otherwise its excellent! ## Features - Dual plate design with flat bottom plate for cooking eggs and sandwiches - Adjustable height settings - Variable temperature control - Feet adjust base tilt from flat to angled to drain fat - Easy cleaning with premium non-stick cooking surface and dishwasher safe removable drip tray - Finish types: Non Stick ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00MNLQ1ES | | Brand | Sage | | Brand Name | Sage | | Colour | Silver | | Customer Reviews | 4.1 out of 5 stars 25 Reviews | | Finish Type | Non-Stick | | Finish type | Non-Stick | | Fuel Type | Charcoal | | Fuel type | Charcoal | | Included Components | Tray | | Installation Type | Free Standing | | Item Dimensions | 14.5 x 38.1 x 31 centimetres | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 14.5 x 38.1 x 31 centimetres | | Manufacturer | BRG Appliances | | Manufacturer Part Number | BGR250BSS UKM | | Model Number | BGR250BSS UKM | | Other Special Features of the Product | Thermostat | | Special feature | Thermostat | | Voltage | 240 Volts | | Wattage | 2200 watts | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Sage - **Special feature:** Thermostat - **Colour:** Silver - **Fuel type:** Charcoal - **Finish type:** Non-Stick ## Images ![Sage by Heston Blumenthal The Adjusta Grill and Press, 2200 Watt - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/815RCr2M2-L.jpg) ![Sage by Heston Blumenthal The Adjusta Grill and Press, 2200 Watt - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Rudcg6tDL.jpg) ![Sage by Heston Blumenthal The Adjusta Grill and Press, 2200 Watt - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31lNdj6uZ5L.jpg) ![Sage by Heston Blumenthal The Adjusta Grill and Press, 2200 Watt - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41tQ5s-fjTL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is the nonstick coating ptfe free and pfoa free ?** A: Yes, the non-stick coating of the Sage® BGR250BSSUK Adjusta Grill and Press™ is PTFO and PFOA free. **Q: Is this better quality than a George Foreman grill, how long does the nonstick coating last?** A: Yes, much better quality - I have had several George Foreman grills in the past and always found that they don't really get hot enough and are difficult to keep clean. This one gets much hotter, so cooks more effectively and also just needs to be wiped down after use.I can't comment on how long the non-stick lasts as I've only had it a couple of months. **Q: 2 pin plug for europe** A: I am using a standard UK => EU adapter, but it is possible to fit the cord with a new EU 2 pin. **Q: Are the plates removable for easier cleaning?** A: No plates are fixed. But easy to clean with kitchen towel and I also use surface wipes to remove any grease. It’s a great product and my wife who was sceptical at first now loves it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Revolutionise your toasties! *by J***H on 3 February 2019* We had a typical 2-sandwich toastie machine that died a death recently and this is our replacement. Used for bacon and toasted panini sandwhiches so far - no issues, cooks well, easy to clean. Stores upright. With the adjustable floating top grill, in my opinion, more versatile than some other grills and a reasonable cooking area. Would recommend. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/49404347-sage-by-heston-blumenthal-the-adjusta-grill-and-press-2200](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/49404347-sage-by-heston-blumenthal-the-adjusta-grill-and-press-2200) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
