Small book, interesting
This is a small book and is words about painting - but does not include many pictures / paintings. It is a book for those wanting to think about how painting may help us be creative people and to rest, think, reflect. Short, easy to read.

A pioneering and practical guide to mindfulness...
...before the phrase was popularised. Considering the extreme pressures that Churchill endured during his life, he found something of great personal use and support, with the additional outcome of some pretty good artworks. Great little book written in a direct but intimate way.

A LITTLE GEM
To read his English is a joy. Few of our present authors have the skill of 'Less words mean more' and yet it flows seamlessly. As an artist I have been where he has been and know the joy of painting , the relaxation it brings and the deep satisfaction of getting it (Well) nearly right - But just wait 'til the next one. A must read for any budding artist; anyone who enjoys good English produced by a Master wordsmith.

Painting as Psychology
What a beautiful piece of prose that promotes painting as just one passion that can be a remedy for realigning one's life. This took fifteen minutes to read but I have thought about it greatly since the first read and will be reading it again shortly. Lovely little book to give as a gift to special people.

Short - more a statement
An interesting little book with a fascinating insight by Churchill into how and why he discovered drawing and painting. Disappointing that there are no illustrations of his actual art.

I watched an interview with former President George W. Bush saying how this essay made him realize he wanted to paint. As an illustrator my whole life, I hadn’t considered painting until recently. I read this book and it inspired me much as it did the former president! I loved it. It was an easy read as it’s more of an essay than a book and it was shipped to me quickly which I loved.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Far more riveting than ever expected!! Winston Churchill describes brain plasticity - the healing powers of learning a new skill to relieve prolonged weariness and overworked brain cells. What a captivating book; it certainly confirms my love of hobbies (reading and painting). Lovely hard cover -- truly a keeper for my library.
