Poldark Series 3 [DVD] [2017]

Just as wonderful as the last season with more new characters coming in it just keeps getting better

Brilliant all around acting and a great drama supurb from start to finish

We are devoted Winston Graham readers and have some mixed feelings about the subtleties of (especially) Ross and Demelza's relationship and personalities which are extinguished in the modernity of this adaptation. In the books both main characters have a delightful sense of humour and are much gentler with one another. Demelza has a magical connection to people and nature which far surpasses the contemporary strong woman image written for and portrayed by the actress in this series. And Ross is more complex in the books.Yet we do love this series. The setting, music, actors, horses and care that has gone into it's making are all wonderful. And Debbie Horsfield has done a masterful job cramming as much story into these hours as possible. I live in Alaska and finally had to buy a region free DVD player so we could see all the special features and listen to the commentaries on the UK DVDs which are NOT on the US DVDs. We are appreciative of the extras on the UK DVDs and the quality of this drama.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Every thing the standard of acting, the scripts, the locations, photography bringing Cornwall vividly to life and the music!!!! Best dramas onot British television!! It has everything drama, passion, betrayal, intrigue, shipwrecks and smuggling. A Romantic Hero like no other and a villainous adversary jealous of the hero who measures everthing in terms of coin or what he can milk some thing for. I cannot recommend it highly enough and if you haven't seen it get the first series and follow it through, you will not be disappointed

While the acting in Poldark continues to be excellent and the storyline just as compelling, the script seemed to jar at times in this third series with out-of-character behaviour (Sam the "rare, kind man" apparently ready to use physical force) or just plainly ridiculous scenes (the gravedigging scene). The first two series were more true to the books and more credible, this third series a bit disappointing, though it did bring us a simply wonderful Geoffrey-Charles.

Awesome Series - acting is amazing led by the charismatic Aidan Turner; scenery breathtaking, music lush and atmospheric and a story full of suspense, twists and romance. Thoroughly recommended as pure escapism sent in Cornwall in the 18th Century - you will not be disappointed

I started watching Poldark series 3 this summer and got completely hooked straight away due to the beautiful scenery, excellent storylines and good development of each character throughout the series. I have bought a few of the books and cannot wait to start reading them. Will definitely tune into series 4 of this excellent BBC adaption based on the books by Winston Graham next summer. A must buy for any fans of Aidan Turner or the Winston Graham books.

Everything you want in an on going story. Adventure, love triangles, sadness, happiness, intrigue, a villain, a hero, great sets and costumes and beautiful actors. Love the series!

Suite d une série magnifique! à voir et avoir absolument dans sa dvdthèque si on aime les personnages courageux et humbles, c est une histoire passionnante et romanesque anglaise; de plus les paysages sont splendides; tous les acteurs jouent trés bien; mais mes préférés sont Capitaine Ross et bien sur Demelza; Vivement la saison 4 en francais si possible;;J ADORE

ロスの不倫から何とか関係を修復した夫婦に再度、危機が訪れる。デメルザを慕う青年の出現により、また、夫婦の危機を迎える。セリフがとても適切でグッとくる。遅くに帰宅した妻に対し「君はもう、帰ってこないと思った。」「帰って来たわ。」「聞きたいことがあるんだ。」「今は、何も聞かないで。」こんなやり取りで終わります。夫婦関係の深淵を見るようです。 また、デメルザと青年の恋愛は、初恋のエリザベスをいつまでも思っているロスに対する復讐ではなく、デメルザを慕う青年の純真に呼応した結果のようです。元々、ロスとデメルザは、主人と使用人、年齢も10歳ぐらい違うので、同じ年頃の青年との逢瀬は、一瞬の花火のように燃え耀るのでしょう。これだけを見ると、東洋思想では、因果応報という感じがします。やはり、人間、罪を犯すと罰せられるのでしょうか。結構、深い小説ですね。

Il dvd è arrivato nei tempi previsti. E' un piacere riguardare la serie anche se la so ormai a memoria avendola vista sul sito della bbc, ma volevo vedere anche i contenuti speciali ed i commenti agli episodi 5 e 9. Per gli italiani: è una serie britannica, quindi il dvd è in inglese con sottotitoli in inglese. Per ora non ci sono versioni in italiano nonostante lo abbiano mandato sulla nostra tv.
