Manic Panic Classic Raven Semi-Permanent Hair Dye (118ml)

Made my hair wonderfully jet black. I love doing touch ups because my hair is instantly dramatic darkened. It's a stunning colour but it's also helped my hair repair itself; I had badly damaged over processed hair before I started dying it black again it's come back to health and no longer looks or feels damaged.I found as I have mid neck - shoulder length at times hair it lasted me.... about 2 months of being sparing. One full cover application and a fair few applications of full and root touch ups. And my hair didn't turn out patchy from this it still looked beautiful and refreshed.I don't think I'd ever use a permanent black dye again. Only manic panic!

As a menaupausal woman had become severely allergic to hair dye tried all ppd free then found out about an ingredient called resnicol this contains none and can I just say Thanku all grey gone no reaction at all highly recommend

I’ve been dying my hair for more than 20 years and this stuff is Awful. the dye didn’t cover anything but has stained everything. I wore gloves for apply but not for when I washed it out and I can’t get it off lol

Bought this to try as I've tried few of the other colours previous. I don't know why but this did not take to my hair at all. I did my roots first then the ends, the ends took fine but my roots was the same colour when I washed it off. Total waste of money! And I had to cut the plastic seal off so got black dye everywhere. I wouldn't waste your time with this.

I am very happy that this brand is vegan and I am always happy to support cruelty free brands especially when they are good quality like this is. The pot means it is very easy to use, you don't have to mix different bottles together and wait for it to develop or anything, you can just put it directly onto clean hair with no problem. I was worried that the colour wouldn't take to my hair as it is advised that you have the lightest shade possible to ensure the colour comes out well and i had dark blonde hair that i didnt want to bleach. But this took very well to my hair and looked great. I also sometimes leave this on overnight as it is very nourishing like a conditioner mask as well as a dye because there are no damaging chemicals in it. Only thing i would say is that i head a lot of people complaining the colour can turn a dark green colour in places as it fades. This happened to me after probably a week and a half/ two weeks. It started at the ends of my hair though so it was easy to spot and cover quickly. Although i have since started using other vegan brands as they last a bit longer this is a great hair dye and the easiest one to use i have found so far.

This is a fantastic black, took to my hair amazingly and even better no bleeding dye when it gets washed.It's listed as semi permanent but I've not seen a dull in the colour since using it (unlike other brands I've used in the past).Would highly recommend

Easy to use and gives a good colour. However it is incredibly difficult to remove and doesn't come out easily. Leaves green and blue streaks in hair. Used on 31st October and still have obvious blue streaks in hair now.Worth considering another product

Very pigmented black dye! In my experience it has faded slowly to navy and some purple. Compared to other dyes/colours this one bleeds a lot with each wash so be careful, it will stain everything especially while hair is wet.

I bought it for my parents and they absolutely loved it,it's so smooth and conditions the hair so well and doesn't have any harmful chemicals in it and it is vegan as well which I love.

As you can see, the black dye was perfect for my cosplay of Cruella de Vil. It stained the other part a bit but that's to be expected. Overall, I'm having a ton of fun with it!

Eccellente. Ho i capelli molto fini, le tinture anche molto delicate li bruciano male, quindi ho voluto provare questo prodotto da solo sui capelli naturali (senza applicare il bleaching prima). Sul mio biondo scuro viene un nero molto intenso, che dura circa un mese. I capelli tornano esattamente come prima, non si rovinano, e posso rifarlo quando mi gira. Certo la durata non è quella di una tinta, ma il risultato è comunque ottimo.

I have gone through a range of manic panic colors: Hot hot pink, forest green, purple haze, virgin white, vampire red, midnight blue, shocking blue, etc. All the colors were great EXCEPT Raven (black). I put it in my hair and sleep with it in and then rinse in the morning. If you do multiple colors, I haven't had issues with bleeding between sections overnight as long as you section/separate well.The problem with RAVEN coloring is the consistency in the color. I have bought 3 different bottles (one from Amazon, two from Sally's Beauty) and have gotten a slightly different tint in the color each time. The first had a slight green tint and the bleached sections of my hair would not turn black (always looked a bit green). Then I got a second bottle that had a slight purple tint -- this one was great and I figured I just got a bad batch with the first one, my hair turned a nice black color. The third bottle (bought from the same Sally's within the same month) and it has a BLUE tint! Seriously... there seems to be an issue with the recipe they use.Other things for NEWBIES using manic panic (I have sections of my natural dark brown hair and bleached sections -- I leave any roots that would show around my face natural so that I don't need to worry about re-bleaching all the time).Manic panic washes out of natural hair pretty quickly (within about 2-4 weeks depending on hair and washing technique), it could leave a very slight tint to your natural color that may never quite go away. On bleached hair in my experience - green and blues stay for a very long time (and some blues I couldn't get out after weeks of trying!). Purple and pink wash out pretty quickly even with bleached hair (2-4 weeks). Manic panic is a STAIN, so it is not permanent. If you have dark brown hair, you are really just tinting it if you don't bleach your hair - so you'll end up with a darker shade of hair (almost black in my case) that shimmers the color of your choice.I've had only blue and pink on hand -- so mix them and you get purple! I've had no trouble with mixing colors of various manic panic dyes to get what I want or to create a gradient in my hair.I have had my hair stain surfaces. I usually wash the fresh dye and 1-2 times after in my aluminum kitchen sink to prevent staining of ceramic surfaces (i.e. my shower) -- if you have a ceramic sink, lay out plastic wrap over the whole sink leaving just the drain uncovered and that has worked well for me (I rent my apt, so obviously I can't risk permanent damage). ALSO, after you brush your hair and you have all this loose hair in your bathroom -- that hair can still stain surfaces! If you have some stray hairs sitting in a puddle by your sink, those wet hairs will leave a mark if they are not cleaned up promptly. Be careful with your loose hairs that they don't sit in a wet shower/sink or puddle on the ground. Sometimes I've been able to remove the marks, sometimes I haven't.Usually only wet hair transfers stains, so if you have a white pillow case and sleep with your hair wet, you will transfer some color to it (or your clothes). Usually in my experience it has washed out unless it was a pretty dark stain. I think only once I have transfer color to my clothing and it was around a turtleneck with freshly dyed hair.If you want the color to last: sulfate-free and dry shampoos are your friends. Also only washing your hair every 3-4 days. This gets kind of gross after a while though, so I have just moved on to dyeing my hair more frequently and using shampoo I like. Also, I will sometimes wash only with conditioner when I want the color to last.
