CDN Proaccurate Grill Surface Thermometer

I use this in my stainless steel pan once I discovered the infrared thermometers don't work on stainless steel. This has been a godsend for getting the temperature right for frying eggs or searing meat. It works perfectly and is a good buy.

This product along with a meat temperature probe means slows you far more control over cooking temperatures. This means my BBQ cooking will be far more controlled, less 'Burnt' offerings, more succulent meats in the future. Thanks guys.

Being a surface contact thermometer with a degree of thermal capacity this will not be as instantaneous as a laser thermometer but will be expected to show more repeatable measurements when allowed to stabilize after about 15 minutes.

A1 , it has proved my cooker temperatures are very out . No wonder all the food was burnt to a crisp.

Much smaller than I expected, probably didn't read the description properly. Haven't used on the BBQ yet but have used in a pan on the hob. Seems to take a long time to start registering but eventually the needle pops up. Not convinced it is registering the correct temperature - more testing needed.

Does exactly what it is supposed to and good value

This thing has no practical use for cooking in a pan or grill. By the time the needle has moved you will have finished cooking. It seems accurate but takes about 4-5 minutes to take a single measurement. This is the second brand of surface thermometer I have tried, I suppose there is not one that exists that is practical for cooking. Stick to IR thermometer.

I got a new grill, and wanted to test it out. Purchased this amazing little thermometer and was very impressed. It was as accurate as my laser based thermometer. FYI do not place it in the entire time the grill is preheating, the paint inside the thermometer fades. It still works great.

If you hate guessing the temperature of your grill or flattop, this is the solution. It will allow you to figure the hot spots on your grill and help you adjust to consistent temperatures. Our food is coming out better than ever while avoiding over and under cooking. This is inexpensive, yet appears accurate. I always make sure to wipe any grease off the glass after use or it will infiltrate the thermometer over time and ruin it. Durablity is good, but I usually end up replacing it once a year. Hard core grillers laugh at me and then realize it is a great idea and usually buy one themselves.
