It may not be the best but it worked for what I needed it to. Keep in mind there is a little TRIGGER that when you pull the cable after looping it in causes the retracting spring to pull the cable through. You may have to wind it first but it works just fine. A spring needs tension.

I like the concept but it didn't work. It kept rolling up the cord and I had to keep pulling out more. Eventually the wire inside my kindle cord broke and I had to buy a new cord. So I stopped using this item

It does what it claims. But in practice, it doesn't work as well as I like and it eventually got yanked out. I'll just go with a normal cable.

Works well for winding my headset cord. Wish it had a stop function that allowed to only partially wind/unwind, but otherwise works as expected.

This is EXACTLY what I've been searching for! I have a wired headset at home just like everybody else, but it only gets used a few times a week. In between calls I used to wrap the long cord around the ear pieces and somehow, every time I pulled them out, the cord was a mess. This thing winds the cord up perfectly for storage and extends easily when I have an unexpected call coming in and need to plug in.

Received 4 of these. None worked. Not only were there no instructions, but when following what the picture has on this order page it didn't work at all. Seems the inner cylinder keeps getting stuck when trying to recoil - and even with a thinner iPhone cable it kept jamming. Not worth the money. Will instead look for a better made version. Returning mine now.

The spring could not be make weaker. I'm giving this two starts because I'm actually impressed by how close to the bare minimum they were able to get while still having the thing kind of function.

Wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but found use for it and will purchase more for other cords. Just need to locate a few for thicker cords.

Low package quality

Works best with mobile / iPad charging cables, headphones. Max 6 feet. Not meant for laptop charging cables or any thick cables.

It's rubbish. Don't know whether it's just the piece I got or is generally the case. Doesn't retract the wire when hooked and pulled more than a cm at a time. It will take a lot of careful patience and time to get it all spooled in. Discarded.

Bit hard and could damage the cable in the long run. The spring is good and look is good.
