King's Blood (The Kinsman Chronicles)

Fantastic. Great Saga. Intriguing Storyline
The King's Blood is book two in The Kinsman Chronicles. It contains three parts: Kingdom at Sea, Maelstrom, and Voices of Blood. All of them complete books in themselves.Book two is simply fantastic, a great saga, a joy to read. The plots and subplots continue to unfold, becoming more interesting as they go. Readers will find an intriguing storyline with great characters, many twists, and much treachery. The physical battles are intertwined with the spiritual battles: good vs. evil, father God vs. false demonic gods. For me, this book is a winnerโmy kind of fantasy fiction. I love the spiritual overtones.Since much of the drama plays out aboard ships, you will appreciate the Cross Section Map of the main flagship in the fleet. And, with such a large cast of characters, the expanded Key Players List is invaluable. The Five Realms Map from book one is also a good resource for the historical review of the kingdoms.Iโm looking forward to book three in The Kinsman Chronicles, the final three parts, and resolution to the story.

Great read
This series really spoke to me. Itโs the first cross section of religion and fantasy Iโve read since the chronicles of Narnia as a kid, and enjoyed it immensely. I hope the final book in the series delivers, and I canโt wait to read it.

Great book! I love the characters!
My daughter says: "This book was great! I really connected with the characters. There are a lot of POVs (point of view), but the characters have unique voices that make them easy to tell apart, especially Charlon's unique narration style. The plot is well done, and the ending left me in shock (in a good way). There are so many memorable scenes (which I won't mention because spoilers). One spoiler: my favorite character did die, but the others are great too, and I can't wait to find out what happens in the third book!"

With the depths of the sea
In all my 600+ books I've read, this is my first that mainly takes place on the open sea. It's also as deep in its elements and symbolisms. Deep characterizations, complex subplots and interactions, even a couple doses of apologetics thrown in for good measure. I'm learning more and more why Jill has a sizable fanbase, whatwith her world building skills. This was definitely an epic read, can not wait for the trilogy's end!

I loved the relationship progression with Trevn and Mielle
I was wondering how this book would hold their attention with them stuck out on the sea for most of it, but Jill Williamson continues to paint a political intrigue that captured my interest throughout. I loved the relationship progression with Trevn and Mielle. The sailors with author names were hilarious ๐

Always very well written, never slow or dull. Full of fun adventure a little bit dark, but God shines through.
