Easy and fun
Great product, worked fantastic on this years pecan crop! Easy to use and saves your hands from shelling!

Best for Pecans
Works the best ever for pecans. I grew up in Texas using these things. Forgot how great they are. The meat of a pecan is difficult to tease out with standard nut crackers, as they tend to just make the whole thing crumble. With The Texan, you can nibble away the shell and consistently pullout intact pecan halves. Yummmm.

Great tool, first time user - definitely keep
Who would have thought this would be the best tool to crack pecans? Not me! It is very comfortable to grip for long period of time. It is great (great great) to snip the tips on pecans. It then is great to give a gentle crack to the entire nut - you put the entire nut into the cavity (space between blades the plastic cover piece) and then give it a squeeze - the shell gets a gentle crack without destroying the 'meat' of the nut. I was able to get many half-pecan pieces that were intact - perfect for pecan pie. I had 5 gallons bucket of pecans and used this tool first time in my life - now I will always recommend it. It is probably not at all useful for small nuts (hazelnuts). The only caution I have to give - it is strong and sharp to cut the shell of a nut, -- it will cut your finger if you are not careful. I can only imagine this -- I had no cut, not a single injury from this tool so far.

Way better than common nut crackers
If you want to de-shell pecans and keep most of the nuts whole, this works. It’s not magic, but with some practice, it works well. Cut the ends off first, then gently crack the sides. Cutting the ends off first makes the sides much easier to crack. The ends are sometimes not easy to cut depending on your hand strength. I generally hold the handles near the end and hold the nut ends close to the pivot point to maximize your leverage. Also don’t wrap your fingers around the handle to prevent your fingers from getting pinched. It’s not super fast if you’re trying to keep most of the nuts whole, which I found to be nearly impossible with a traditional nut cracker, but for my purposes it has worked great.

Excellent nut cracker!
Nut cracking game changer! Makes it way easier to get whole nutmeats. There is a bit of a learning curve on placement of tool on nut so you don’t cut off the end of the nut along with the end of the shell and if you crack a lot of nuts you’ll have to change the blade, so order extra blades?

So far so good!
So far so good, the way I use it for pecans is I crack the ends as close to the edge as possible and then just work my way around the nut cracking it lightly until I can peel the shell off. Works great.

Great for pecans
Takes some practice but best tool I have tried. Cuts through pecans easily, not hard to use.Feels good in the hand. With the way it cracks them open I'm satisfied with the price.

Need better quality control.
Bushing in pivot a little too short. Screw was loosening off during use. Tried to tighten but that locked up the tool. Had to add a washer to allow enough room for the spring to work freely.
