there is lots of information in this book I would advise anyone who is interested to get this book. then you'll soon be ready

To be honest, very little of the information (if any) found in this book do I see to be unique to it. The internet holds much of the same information for free at a search, and no unique information on the day to day care of this particular species. On the other hand, it is good for one who wants general information offline (schools, home without a PC, etc).

Good book

Great book just what I wanted it is a real help, I would recommend this book to anyone who keeps snakes

Handy little manual to complete any research

Okay book but exceptionally basic. Very bare-bones in terms of care and photos a little out-dated. Very extensive on the morphs but otherwise only the first 30 pages cover care and later there's a few pages on diseases. Okay but the internet is likely a better source. As well as this, the copy I received had been heavily annotated and used by a young person. I spent much of an evening very carefully trying to get rid of the highlighter stains throughout and the pen writing. I suppose that's what I get for getting a book second-hand but obviously not very good quality.

Perfetto

This book is an excellent reference for someone who's getting their first ball python. It has information on selection, feeding, general care and husbandry, troubleshooting, and a lot of information on color morphs and the associated genetics. I enjoyed the book a lot, and learned a few things from it (even though I've been keeping and occasionally breeding snakes since the early '90's). No ball python owner should be without this book. Actually, all the books in this series and by this author are excellent. If you find a book on your animal by Philippe De Vosjoli, you absolutely can't go wrong dropping the coin to get it. Highly recommended.

Here is my rating of the Ball Python Manual by Philippe De Vosjoli and Roger Klingenberg. Pros: -Made by professionals -Very colorful pictures -Covers every topic Cons: -Barely has stuff about captivity raised Ball Pythons (^^See that, not that many cons!) Summary: This Ball python manual is very accurate and has lots of good info. This book should go to a beginner because it has good details and tips. I've seen other Ball Python books, but this focuses on more imported Pythons than on captivity. overall, i will give this book 5 stars. this book also came a day early!
