Meguiar’s Cleaner Wax, Removes Blemishes,11 Oz

This stuff goes on and buffs off pretty easily, and leaves a nice finish. I'm not super fancy or anything, but I like to wash and wax my beloved old Subaru before and after the Winter months to reduce salt damage. I think it helps. Or at least it makes him nice for a few months. I opted for this product because I grew up with it and have many memories of helping my parents buff this stuff off our old station wagon. Also I'm lazy and I want to clean and protect the top layer of paint in one easy step. It's not as shiny or protective as a hard-shell type of wax, but I'm not interested in that level of preparation or effort so this is good enough for me. As with any wax, I try to avoid getting it on the black trim and try to apply / remove it on a warm day in the shade.

Great wax with a nice protection coat to get me through summer so I can wax it in early fall. Makes the paint bead up during the heavy rains. Excellent product and will be exploring their other pordust. Highly recommend this product!

Easy to apply and buff off...leaves a nice shine

I thought I had made a mistake when my husband said that Zymol was rated #1 in Consumer Reports; thus I turned to Amazon's Reviewers to see how customers rated it. 80% gave it 5 stars. This morning I set out to test Zymol Cleaner Wax against Meguiar's Cleaner wax, thinking Zymol's must be easier to apply and buff out because it was a liquid. Meguiars Cleaner wax looked like the Carnauba paste wax of yesteryear. Was I wrong!!! They both applied equally fast, but the Meguiar was easier to regulate in terms of thickness. Both took a short time to be ready to buff out, but Meguiar's buffed out much more easily and produced a more brilliant shine. Zymol produced a white powder after buffing, Meguiar produced none. Zymol came without an applicator and turned the terry towels turquois. Meguiar's came with an applicator in the lid, and worked perfectly. I performed this test with a friend and her result with Zymol was pretty unsatisfactory - difficult and sometimes impossible to buff out. Even spraying it with water and trying again as the directions suggest, didn't really work. I was done way before she was, and thought she might have applied too much; so we switched products and I had the same problems with Zymol as she had. She was finished with the second chair and I was still struggling with mine. In the end, the Maguire waxed product looked great, and the Zymol product looked dull.

I use this wax on all of my vehicles and my rv about once a year, usually in the fall or winter to protect against sand and salt. I've been using it for nearly twenty years now I'd estimate. It wears off on the vehicles in a few months just due to the elements so I'd recommend waxing more regularly if your vehicle gets used a lot or lives outside. I've tried other more expensive waxes from Meguirs, like the Gold, and can't tell a difference except in cost. Often the vehicle is only 98% clean with some stubborn bugs or other road debris and applying the wax by hand helps with identification and removal of these final contaminates with the sponge or my finger nail since the surface is otherwise smooth and the solvents help break the contamination loose. Since I'm using the wax partly to clean, a sponge slowly becomes contaminated so the included sponge is perfect for the amount in a can. Cleaning off massive amounts of dried on bug guts from my rv is particularly easy if I keep up with my waxing since nothing adheres well to a waxed surface. I feel there is no substitute for the nice thick coat of wax left by a paste wax since I don't wash my vehicles all that regularly and want the wax to last as long as possible. I also use it over decals to help prevent peeling, on my slider to keep it slippery and preserve the seals, and on seal mating surfaces to help prevent contaminant scratching of the paint as well as ice adhesion. If you wash your vehicle more regularly, perhaps a liquid wax which goes on a little quicker and buffs easier will be more to your liking, but this paste wax has enough solvent that it is almost as easy to apply.
