Good quality from a small unit
Just moved house and wanted a video doorbell. The original intention was to buy an Amazon Echo Show 15 to use with it but Amazon seemed to have ceased production of that so we purchased the Echo Hub. Didn't want to subscribe to cloud storage and so the Sync2 module with a flash-drive fitted does the job for us. Setup was a bit tricky since both my wife and I wanted to receive notifications but once sorted it is working well. Used with Alexa, we get told there is someone at the door when the bell-push is used. We also receive notifications that motion has been detected (the field and sensitivity of motion detection can be altered so, for example, you don't pick up all passers by on the street). Recorded images are sharp, with a good field of view, in colour during daylight and B&W at night. An excellent little product in conjunction with the sync2 especially at the deal price we paid.

Quality item, great when used in conjunction with the cameras
We have a blink and a ring and my preference is for the blink, but both are good, the software is easy to use and works well, if it’s not hard wired in you need to use lithium batteries as they last longer, how long depends on the settings, and frequency of use, ours tends to be triggered often due to how it’s set up, so the batteries last around 3-4 months, but I thing the average would be at least double that, like all for best use you need to subscribe, but this does have the option to record onto a usb drive on the base station subscription free.

Disappointing performance — short battery life and constant connection issues
I really wanted to like this Blink Video Doorbell, but it ended up being more trouble than it was worth. I bought it expecting decent battery life and reliable connectivity, but the reality was the opposite. The batteries drained far quicker than advertised, even with motion sensitivity turned down, and I found myself having to take it down constantly just to replace or recharge them. Connectivity was another major issue. The doorbell kept dropping off WiFi, and half the time the live view wouldn’t load at all. Motion notifications were delayed or sometimes didn’t come through until minutes later, which defeats the whole purpose of having a video doorbell. The Sync Module 2 was also a big let-down — it struggled to stay connected and didn’t improve the reliability in any noticeable way. After a week of frustration, I ended up returning it. For the price, I expected something much more stable. Definitely not recommended if you want a reliable, low-maintenance video doorbell.

No chime
A door bell without a chime. This was an 'Amazon Choice'. I think the expectation is the buyer will have some other Amazon sound product. I don't so I've used an old phone on which the Blink app has been installed and left in the hall. The problem with this arrangement is when the doorbell button is pressed, the bell talks to the sync module which is connected to the internet and the Blink servers which then send a message over the internet to devices also with the Blink app installed. It's great because any number of devices can be informed. But this takes time. And what happens when there's an internet problem at home or with the Blink server? This should have a simple wireless chime included that's not reliant on the internet The install process is well designed but failed for me the first two times because the device could not connect to the immedia.com servers. But third time it worked.
