The fascination of the Louches, i.e. the turbidity that occurs when you mix absinthe with water, is impressively staged. How the Slipstream Absinthe Ritual works: First you fill absinthe into the pipe. There is a mark on the whistle that gives you the exact amount. Next, put a sugar cube and ice cubes in the pipe. Then fill the pipe with cold water. Now the magical effect sets in: the green absinthe rises in white streaks into the upper chambers of the pipe. One speaks of the so-called "Louche effect". The spectacle lasts approx. 2 minutes, but you can also shorten it by blowing briefly through the straw into the pipe to mix the absinthe with the water. The spherical shape of the upper reservoir prevents the absinthe from spilling out of the pipe. Nevertheless, caution is required here.
