The Flight Extension clasp is small but strong. Because a bird will be carrying the leash when he fly's it is necessary to make every part as light as possible. Take care to carefully attach the clasp to the harness wrist strap without damaging the wrist strap material. A flying bird is carrying the weight of the harness and 1/2 the weight of the leash. It can take some experience for a bird to develop the muscles and cardiovascular system to fly without becoming exhausted. The Aviator Harness is escape proof however it is not damage proof. The harness material is very strong but with enough time a bird can damage the harness so it is necessary to check the harness each time it is used to make sure it is not being slowly damaged by your bird. Damaged harnesses can often be repaired or reinforced if a bird likes to cheew on a particular spot. Feel free to contact us regarding repairs and replacements. Directions 1. I really like the harness and longer lead for flying my B&G. She is a 32 yr old adopted bird that may have never been flying before. You HAVE to do the proper prep training using the DVD or your bird may not let you use the harness. It is strong material and my B&G has not destroyed it, although she will pick at it. Teaching your bird to fly is rewarding and my bird seems to really enjoy being out.
