As a treat I made sticky toffee pudding and using real ingredients like this made it fantastic. Review: Excellent Dark Muscovado Sugar! - Wonderfully moist and dark with an exceptional molasses flavor!! Very high quality. It's quite expensive so I use it sparingly and for molasses cookies. To make it last a bit longer I sometimes use half this brand and half my regular organic brown sugar in a recipe. I transferred it to a jar with a tight lid to keep it moist and fresh. I definitely would recommend giving it a try. ## Features - 1-pound bag Imported from Mauritus! - The most amazing dark sugar we've tasted! - Rich complex and unrefined sugar! - Perfect for cakes fudge pie or coffee! Add it to oatmeal for a yummy twist on a breakfeast tradition! ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B005FO2C3Y | | Brand | India Tree | | Brand Name | India Tree | | Coin Variety 1 | Dark Sugar | | Color | Dark Brown | | Container Type | Bag | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,581 Reviews | | Item Form | Crystal | | Item Package Quantity | 1 | | Item Package Weight | 0.47 Kilograms | | Item Weight | 1 Pounds | | Item form | Crystal | | Item weight | 1 Pounds | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Package information | Bag | | Size | 450 g (Pack of 1) | | Specialty | Sugar | | Unit Count | 473.18 Milliliters | | Unit count | 473.18 Milliliters | ## Product Details - **Brand:** India Tree - **Item form:** Crystal - **Item weight:** 454 g - **Number of Items:** 1 - **Package information:** Bag ## Images ![India Tree Sugar - Dark Muscovado (Mauritius) 1# - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61vsikHzpGL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Where is this sugar packaged?** A: According to the package it comes from Mauritus which has a lava influence in the soil. That gives this sugar a somewhat smoky flavor. It's not as sweet as white sugar or brown sugar which doesn't have the molasses removed. **Q: Hi, love this sugar, but even wrapped in a plastic bag, it gets hard so quickly. Suggestions??** A: When sugar gets hard, it means that it has dried out too much. We have found that if you use a "Brown Sugar Bear", which is made from specially fired clay (food safe and reusable), it works wonders. They sell for $7 on Amazon. To use it - soak it in water for 20-minutes, then place in the same container with the brown sugar. **Q: What Are The Benefits Of Using This Product?** A: The flavor is richer and product you are making is more moist. I have used both and asked family members to taste test. The Muscovada Dark sugar won out every time. **Q: Is this gluten free?** A: The package indicates it is nonGMO, but does not indicate gluten free. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Delicious Flavourful Product *by L***A on 2 May 2025* Expensive but worth it.
