I am always concerned about plugging an expensive camera into the mains especially when travelling and your not sure of the quality of the electrical service and whether an electrical surge might cause damage to your expensive camera. Also it means that you cant use the camera whilst the battery is charging.So I was looking for a separate charger and spare batteries. I saw this and though it was very neat coming in its own case with 2 spare batteries. I have used non genuine batteries before and I am aware that sometimes they don't hold the charge as well as the originals. But as the cost of the genuine Sony ones is about £65in the uk, even if they didn't last as long I have 2 of them and a charger for far less than 1 original spare. So far I haven't seen any difference and the camera accepts them with no problems as to fit or warning messages saying they aren't genuine.
