Glucose Goddess Method: Book with super recipes.
Super nice book! We have learnt about Jessi through her YouTube podcasts. So this book came as a great help as recipes were included. The blurp says that most of us are stuck on a glucose rollercoaster & so it helps you to realise how detrimental it is for anyone's health in the long run. It tells you how to go through the four health hacks to reduce glucose levels after meals & has tips & reviews on each section to inspire you to look after your health. The author has been using data from her glucose monitor to illustrate scientific concepts & says you could wear one for yourself to see the results. I found the veggie starter section to be really helpful - filled with great ideas. We had only tried a couple of our own: For eg: frozen mix vegetables with fresh brocolli - Steaming it & adding condiments & Extra virgin olive oil when serving. It stores well & good value too. However, this book gives a great idea to add greek yogurt to veggie starters. I made one with tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce & olives mixed with a good share of greek yogurt, seasoning, EVOO & cumin powder. Another good value starter! More ideas: add Pepper, feta, quinoa & or corriander if parsley doesn't work for you. Whenever, I make a fresh batch of veggie starter, I want to add the proteins to it and make it into a meal. You could use chickpeas, beans, chicken, tuna etc & I think that's allowed! The book says having a veggie starter doesn't mean you can't also have veg with the rest of the meal. One thing that we do practice that isn't mentioned in the book is to drink the vinegar drink with a straw. Some health experts have highlighted that vinegar can damage the enamel so we take due precaution. Waking up to a savory breakfast. Again, great ideas - it took me some time to switch as used to toasts, scones & cereals. We now boil a batch of eggs to keep for a quick start to the mornings. Last but not least, switching to good habits can take time & some of us can take longer than others to incorporate all four hacks - but if you have the right mindset & realisation it will eventually fall through. It can be a game-changer. Great delivery. Thanks

Good
If you listen to an interview with the author,then you already know everything;or if you read her previous book. This book doesn’t deliver any new information. It’s more of a diary/recipe book. Which isn’t bad,just not what I expe. I tried a few recipes and they are not bad at all. Luxuriously made cooking book. And if that’s helpful, have been doing that method for about 6 months now and works. Especially with menopause. As soon as I stopped the sugar (I also don’t eat ultra processed food) there are no menopause tiredness and hot flashes. Unfortunately, gained quite a bit of weight as I almost doubled the amount of food,having to eat salad with every meal. Takes more time too,however, good book,great advice,great diet.

I feel so much better that I bought an extra 7 copies for friends and family
I've never felt better. This book does everything it says it will. I love the fact that the recipes are so simple and so tasty. Jessie has made everything so simple for us. This is sustainable, tasty, and good for us. I have sooooo many favourites. I love all the savoury breakfasts I've tried so far, which is about 10 of them. I had California Quesadilla 3 days on the trot as I enjoyed it so much. Sometimes I have one of Jessie's breakfasts for dinner. I'm very much enjoying the variety, my increased energy and the mental clarity I now have. No afternoon slump, no craving carbs. I feel like eating Jessie's recipes and veg starters has freed me from my food shackles. Some colleagues were eating donuts in work the other day and normally I'd have been at the front of the queue, but I didn't feel the least interest in the donuts and was very surprised when I checked my thoughts. Can't stop talking about this book and using this book. Bravo Jessie! You're changing so many lives for the better.

A great read
Easy to read and dip into for recipes that you wouldn’t think of. It is a planned weekly programme so only have to think of one thing at a time. Will see how it goes but enjoying the book.

Actually Life Changing!
I was recommended this book by a friend going through fertility issues. The science behind the approach to diet is in-depth and you can actually feel the difference in your energy levels through-out the day. The book concentrates on more of the 'how to eat' than the 'what to eat' side of diet and nutrition and is absolutely straight forward and easy to read and implement without disrupting your entire meal plan. I've lost a stone and a half of belly fat by simply following the guidance and it's helped with my peri-menopausal symptoms too. (But also including the daily vitamins into my routine too). This book is a serious no-brainer if you're looking to make some simple but effective changes to your diet and lifestyle.

Easy to read but very heavily padded
This isn't a review of the method, but the book. I feel like the gist of it could be stripped down to about 20 pages max. It's heavily padded out with pages of testimonials (too many to read, a lot of them very long) and silly FAQ's. I feel like bragging 100 recipes is a bit of a stretch when 5 of them were basically lemon/vinegar water: vinegar and water, lemon and water, lemon and water in a travel flask, lemon water in a bottle (yes that was a separate recipe), vinegar water in a restaurant (just ask your friendly waiter for a glass of water and some vinegar)... I also think this would be a struggle for dietary restrictions, especially vegans. Step 1 is to eat a savoury breakfast. I have an egg and dairy intolerance, so I hoped for some decent vegan options to help me out, but I think there were only 2 egg/dairy free breakfast recipes. One final tip: I bought this on kindle, and would suggest the physical book is probably a better medium to buy it in. It's been an interesting enough read, and the steps seem easy to implement, so I don't regret the purchase, I just think it's not the best set out and would rather the fluff an padding came in the form or repetition of some of the information from her first book instead.
