These are great barrel hinges. Nicely made and easy to fit.

If used horizontally, these are just fine - although you might want a tapped hole for a grease fitting. If you are installing a gate, you probably want the type that have a ball bearing inside to take the gate weight and a grease fitting to keep it squeak free. Also, these usually have an extra pad already welded to the barrel, which makes installation a slight bit easier. At the price point for 4, no complaints - just make sure this is really the style you want.

These pins make very short work of attaching weld on hinges. They are heavy duty, precise and very easy to weld. Their heavy duty construction can take direct welding without the fear of warping or burning through. Just lay out your gate into its frame position your hinge pins (in the right direction) tack them up and weld. Check for fit, add a little grease and you’ve got a smooth gate. A lot of hinge for a few bucks

The hinges are machined very well and are strong enough to hold a safe door. They came well packaged/oiled, and did not rust on their way here. I installed them on my trailer ramp, works great.

I'm using these hinges on a 8 foot horizontal metal framed gate. I still have a wheel mounted onto the end of the gate to help with the load. I have several large, heavy-duty gates and even with heavy duty hinges, if I don't use a wheel on the end, the supporting post will bend over time no matter the bracing I use. These hinges are a simple weld on style and so far, they're working great. I put some grease on the pin and will probably continue to do so whenever I feel they're starting to dry. I painted after welding with a galvanized spray coating. I'll update my review should anything change.
