Gelid Solutions Silent 4 – 40mm Computer Fan, 3 Pin Molex, 40x40x10mm, Fan Speed: 4200RPM, Hydro Bearing, FN-SX04-42, Very Quiet, Noise Level 18.9 dBA, Color Black

Wanted a new fan on the hot-end for my Ender 3 Pro, wanted something quieter. Didn't want to pay $13 for a Noctua fan, so looked around a bit and found these fans by Gelid Solutions on Amazon. Same size, within 1db of the Noctua, but only $7.50. Added benefit that it's a hydro-bearing which should last forever compared to sleeve or ball bearing. 4200rpm @ 12vdc, whereas the Noctua is 4500/3700 RPM. This Gelid has a slightly more aggressive fan design so in comparing with my hand (no science here) it seems to put out as much or slightly more air than the Noctua. I will also say it's dead silent, I thought my Ender 3 Pro was off, so hit the power, and turned it off.... Added benefit (to me) is that it's a black fan housing with white blades, looks way nicer than the brown Noctua.

The 30mm fan that shipped with my hot end was 10K and pushed 4 CFM. So I went in search of a silent fan that pushed at least as much air. I couldn't find a 30mm, but this 40mm at 18dB and 4.5 CFM seemed to fit my needs so I ordered. This fan is absolutely silent and I have had no issues with my printer since installing it.

My first fan was DOA (tested before installing), returned & replaced. Second fan is working fine so far (just a few hours of use). The fan is installed in a homemade, portable “battery box” with solar charging. The fan is used to cool the solar charge controller. The fan only runs with solar energy is present, the only time ventilation/cooling is needed. The provided mounting screws worked fine for this application. It would be nice if it came with a grill, but hardware cloth worked. A simple wiring diagram would also be nice, but is available if you look for it. It is quiet, measuring about 40 db @ 1 foot.

My M.2 SSD in a small mini-ITX case was running 50-52 C. Bought this little fan and attached it with 3M strips rather than screws so it could blow onto the SSD. 3 PIN connector easily attaches to a 4 PIN motherboard fan connector. M.2 SSD now runs at 37-41 C even under load. Quiet too. Like it.

Complete and fragile junk. Save your money. For the 4 seconds it did work, it sounded like it had bad bearing.

Very silent for sure, and it seems to be of decent quality.. but the airflow it puts out is abysmal. It might be useful for someone needing a 40mm fan where noise is the utmost concern, but for keeping things actually cool, look elsewhere.

I used this fan to replace a fan in my humidifier. I had to push the pins out of the 3 pin connector and push them into a 2 pin connector. Works perfectly now. My humidifier is back in operation and so quiet.

Works well and silent. Based on some reviews, only time will tell if it gets noisy in a few months.

My NAS only has a passive heat sink and was getting hot. I got this tiny fan and a splitter to provide cooling to the CPU. Works a treat. The fan is perfect, small, neat and silent. Airflow is great and has brough my temps down a few deg. Hopefully last a long time. Recommended for tight space cooling.

Ich habe zwei Lüfter auf passende Kühlkörper aufgesetzt und diese dann oberhalb der X670E-Chips auf die Abdeckung der Chips geklebt. Das hat die Temperatur um ca. 20°C gesenkt. Angenehmer Nebeneffekt, die Lüfter sind sehr leise. Ich höre sie nicht aus dem System heraus.

Lo he usado para reemplazar el de una impresora 3d. No se escucha absolutamente nada. De hecho al principio creí que lo había conectado mal. Sin embargo tengo la impresión de que el flujo de aire es un poco flojo, inferior al que tenía instalado pero parece que suficiente.

Je l’utilise alimenté par la carte mère pour le refroidissement d'une carte contrôleur RAID. Marche sans problèmes et quasiment pas de bruit. Un bon achat.

I used this fan to replace a very noisy Sunon fan with worn bearings (after 6 months continuous use). This fan was a 3pin-for-3pin, screw-for-screw, plug in replacement for that. This fan is very quiet indeed in comparison, but it also spins at a much slower speed so that is to be expected. It is a much more suitable item for my application as it provides a constant low speed, positive air-flow rather than the howling gale cooling of the Sunon. So, in summary if you want to provide a constant low speed air-flow through your case, that does not keep everyone awake use this fan. If you really need to keep a component cool with directed air use something else and suffer the noise. Information from the box that is useful when comparing fans: Air Flow 4.5/7.65 CFM/CMH RPM 4200 Noise Level 18.9 dBA Update Feb 2020: This has been in _continuous_ use for nearly 4 years and has gone noisy without failing. I have ordered another of these without hesitation to replace it. Although the price has gone up, if you want a quiet, reliable low-speed fan, this one has served me well.
