EXCELLENT ANTI- LIMESCALE FITTING
Excellent item. Fitted well into area required. Could tell the difference in water in about 3 weeks. Would recommend to anyone and do.This Scalewatcher was fitted in Norfolk, Norwich area. Known for limescale. It is not the first I have fitted. Prior to moving to Norfolk, I lived in North Kent. This is on the North Downs and is a very chalky area. I fitted quite a few whilst working there and to date, have never heard a bad word about them. As a Plumber, I find them extremely easy and quick to fit. The bonus being not having to isolate water and cut into pipes etc. A very good product all round.

Easy to install, but beware power lead length.
Fitted this only a few weeks ago. Really easy to fit and water tasted different after just a few days - too early to be sure of true effectiveness. Note please that while specified (on scalewatcher website and in delivery documents) as having a 3m power lead, mine arrived with only 2.7m between main box and mains plug. Because I had to take the lead through a wall, I had to cut off and replace the plug, so became a little shorter even than that.

Lime scale has not gone after 9 months
This has been in a year and has not got rid of the build up of scale. Of course it is difficult to measure whether there has been a reduction, but the water remains hard.

It works. Had one in a previous home, and bought another
This really works, and the lack of limescale buildup is remarkable. I bought this for my 4 bedroom house, but they also have ones for smaller dwellings. I had one before, and wish I'd remembered to take it out of my last home and bring it with me. The water here is very hard, and so limescale deposit build up is a problem around taps, stainless steel sink, kettle, and the shower glass & tray. It made sense to buy another one. It's worth visiting their website and looking up the lab testing report on this product. One of my best purchases and would definitely recommend!

No more itchy legs.
I bought this product because with age I suffer from dry and itchy legs. I got fed up laying awake all night scratching to try and relieve them. Following a stay in hospital, using softened water, I realised that I had not had the problem during the course of my stay. Deciding that I needed to deal with our hard water, I considered other products due to the cost of this one, but because of a friends recommendation decided to go for this one. Very simple to fit, (once I managed to find the rising main behind the back of a fitted cupboard!) About a month along the line my itching has ceased completely. Worth every penny just for that.My wife claims she cannot notice much difference with the water, but I find it feels much silkier and I am conscious of using less washing up liquid, getting a proper lather from soap (a phenomenon I had forgotten exists) etc.Overall very happy, but as I say, I have only had it a month so time will tell about the claim to gradually de-scale pipes.

Glad we've done it
We live in a very hard water area, and although it can't totally stop lime scale we do feel that it is working now it has time to flush out all the hard water in the system. The foam in the washing machine has in creased and the shower door takes longer to become milky. Personally I'm glad we have done it.

Not working.
It doesn't remove any scale at all. Unfortunately for me , this was a waste of money.

changed from water imp to Scalewatcher after 20 years and can already see the benefit after a week
For 22 years I've had a water imp fitted as in Suffolk we have some of the hardest water. As part of the new kitchen I decided to replace it (it had started to 'lock up' and need power cycling) so looked at the reviews for alternatives and settled on the Scalewatcher2. First impressions are excellent, very well built and no external power block. I've fitted it to the back of the under sink cupboard and wrapped the coil around the plastic rising main under the sink unit void (behind the plinth) as the instructions say to wrap on plastic pipe if possible. That was a week ago, and within 3 days I noticed that boiled water for a cup of tea did not leave any 'surface' floating on - it looks as clear as when I used a water filter/tap. The manufacturer makes no claims to softening or filtering water, but the look and taste of it is already better. For the past 20 years I've seen the water imp benefits and it seems to me that the scalewatcher is even more effective (they mention they use audio frequencies rather than the more common radio frequencies). Early days yet, but the packaging, quality of the written instructions (paper and text) and the unit itself give confidence
