Yes easily. Provided the fix the base (magnetic part) to a surface the does not move relative to the disc. The adjustable clamp should give enough movement to set the DTI gauge onto the disc. You can easily buy other smaller magnetic bases or simple clamp that can grip onto a body part if the magnetic base is not a option.
