Igloo Super Tough STX Cooler

I bought this ice chest for a deer hunt I went on late October here in Northern AZ. I am absolutely impressed! I was out for 12 days, and it kept ice the whole time!Granted, this was the first time I used the strategy of freezing water in 1 gallon jugs (green ice tea jugs, not milk jugs, the milk jugs would sweat out the moisture) instead of buying ice blocks or cubes. Neat trick, doesn't leave water all over your goods as the ice melts. BUT, it deep keep the ice I had in there cool and intact for all 12 days! Even after being in the sun for half of those days! The hottest it got during the day was an average of 75-80 degrees. and it got freezing by night. I kept the ice chest in camp where there were tall pines so it only got the high noon sun during the day. I love the heavy duty handles and latches as well. Great product! I wish they made it in a larger 200qt size though for when I go elk hunting.

FINALLY!!! Igloo ALWAYS built the best cooler for the money, stuff stayed cold and ice didn't melt. However the hinges and latches were lousy when cooler put in rough service. Even in light service, they eventually always broke. I'm thrilled to see a newly designed cooler that should last. There's nothing like an Igloo cooler and stuff lasts just as long as one of them fancy Yetis at 1/3 of the cost.

UPDATE: I love this cooler!! Survived second bear raid! Must have been the same bear as last year as he was much more gentle this time and did not eat my food. That habañero salsa was a burning reminder of last years buffet. A couple new punctures; however, used some DAP to fill in and worked like a charm.Bought this cooler for an annual wilderness camping trip. First night out our camp was raided by a bear. The bear was able to easily open the cooler without ripping the lid off or breaking the hinges. The bear got to enjoy all of my nicely chilled food as the cooler kept everything properly chilled including my habeñero salsa. Lucky him! There were some minor punctures but overall the cooler did really well.

I am hard on coolers, and I have very high standards. I expect coolers to keep ice for a couple days, not degrade in their insulative abilities too quickly, and to stand up to three week camping trips in medieval environments. This cooler has now been through two such camping trips, and the exterior has taken some abuse and stood up to it well. However, the insulative abilities of the cooler are not quite as good as I had hoped. The ice is lasting longer than our old cooler (which has been in use for nearly two decades) but not nearly as good as I had hoped. On average 75-80 degree days (and 50-60 degree nights) with the cooler under a shade canopy, 22 pounds of ice was only last about 36 hours. I had hoped for it to hold out for roughly twice that amount of time. Oddly, since purchasing this one, my social media has been full of targeted ads for the same brand-name but the next step up in quality (and price). It's okay... for the price it's actually doing an okay job. I just expected a little more.

I LOOOOVE this cooler.I bought it to take to Burning Man filled with a combination of perishible food and drinks, and loaded with ~60 lbs of ice (3 large supermarket bags) sitting on the ground in ~90F degree ambient temperatures during the day it still had a useable amount of ice 5 days later, about half had melted by then. In cooler weather this thing does amazingly as a back porch party cooler, or for lengthy camping trips. I lent it to a friend for a party, had it outside in ~60F degree ambient weather in the shade, and when he gave it back to me 6 days later with some extra beers in it, there were only a few inches of water in the bottom after being loaded with about 40 lbs of ice.The big hit for me is that the 150-quart fits PERFECTLY lengthwise in the trunk of my '99 Toyota Land Cruiser - the tailgate folds up and just touches the side of the cooler enough that it presses against the back of the rear seat and doesn't slide around.This is wide enough that when it's loaded you need 2 people to carry it though, and it doesn't have roller wheels. The latches aren't the best design (you have to hold them both up to open the cooler, they flip down and partially latch otherwise) but for the price I have no complaints.Highly recommended if you want excellent insulation performance without spending the premium to get a Yeti.

5 days of camping in 90 degree weather. Yes ice melted after 2 days because I used it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Keeping cool sometimes takes more than ice - a note for the negative reviewers. Handles are strong and the build seems strong. It's a good looking cooler and the 150 isn't too big or too small for meals and drinks for 4 adults and 2 kids. It comes with slots inside for dividers but I couldnt find them on Amazon or Igloo site. I did find aftermarket dividers. I really like this cooler!

This cooler keeps ice for the time claimed and for almost twice as long if kept out of the sun. What a deal.

デザインや容量などには満足しました。配送の際についたヘコミと思われる物が二ヶ所有りました。返品するとすぐ使えないので、我慢して使ってます。大型の商品なので仕方ない事かもしれません。性能についてですが、最近の奴より2倍近い値段がする割には性能に大差なしです。やはり何年進歩しているので、最近出たシリーズが良いかも知れません。私自身は、他にあまり見ないデザインなので、気に入ってはいます。

軽い。仕事が忙しくなって昨年は未使用ですが、大きさにも満足してます。保冷力に満足いくか試せてないので★4つです。
