Dorman 901-251 Brake Light Switch Compatible with Cadillac/Chevrolet/GMC Models

I was nervous about ordering an electronic part online, but this worked perfectly. Also this new part restored my cruise control.

I watched a YouTube video that recommended swapping this to repair my broken cruise control. I was experiencing random drops in cruise control for a few years then it just stopped working. Based on the YouTuber I found that had a similar issues, I decided to swap this part. It was easier than I expected to swap (maybe took 5minutes) and now my cruise control works again. I had a few calls into repair shops that all said diagnosis and repairs on cruise control are very time consuming and would be expensive. This $20 gamble paid off!

Sometimes when I release the brake my lights don't turn off and I have to use my foot to give it a push from behind to disengage it. I don't have to hold it, just a little tap does the trick.

Couldn't install it myself as I don't bend any more but it took my friend about 10 minutes and that's only because it's actually behind the dash and hard to reach. It works as advertised. It's only been a few weeks but no issues so far. It shipped a few hours after the order was placed and was here in two days. A little annoyed about the too big box but the switch literally fits in your shirt pocket.

This brake light switch also serves as a sensor for the GM traction control. My truck had a P0573 code indicating need for the switch. Same part as in the auto store, but less expensive and shipped/received quickly. Works well.
