I was informed the the case is held closed by magnets but I cant seem to get it open and I don't want to force it how do I open it....

You need to cut these two parts and then open it

As long as you get the correct size. The typical 1/4" wiha bits are too big for this driver.

is it a ratchet system?

No, it is not. Don't see the need for this to be a ratchet unless you're dealing with some really lengthy small bolts or screws....

Where is this tool manufactured?

Probably China but for the money it's a solid set and they have great customer service. So if something does break they are more than willing to help you out.
