Will it work on vinyl emulsion before papering

Accepted Answer

If the vinyl emulsion has been put directly on the plaster then the emulsion should have done some of the job the solvite would.  The solvite on top of the emulsion should cause not problems and your concern would be gone.

Is this water based?

We’ll you mix it with water so I suppose it must be. Chemicals will be listed on the back of the packet.

Does anybody know how to dispose of the remaining product?

The easiest way to dispose of wallpaper paste is to let it harden and then throw it in the bin. Wallpaper paste is usually water soluble and non-toxic, which means it doesn't present a hazard to the environment if disposed of in this way.11 Aug 2022

does this Solvite wall sealer stop blistering?

It depends on what is blistering and what the cause is. As a professional decorator, I can confirm that doing the right 'prep' is the most important part of the job. You need to ensure that all the old wall covering/paper has been removed, even those little fiddly bits. Then you need to ensure that all cracks and any surface holes or imperfections are filled and smoothed. This is then the time to apply your Solvite Wall Size, ensuring you cover the whole surface without missing any patch's. Allow the Wall Size to fully dry. When you come to apply your new wall covering/paper, you'll find that the Wall Size will allow you to apply and slide/move the new wall covering/paper more easily as it prevents the paste/adhesive from drying too quickly. You must still ensure that you take care that no air bubbles/pockets are trapped as you apply the wall covering/paper by using a wall paper brush,  (This is a fairly wide, handle-less soft bristle brush,NOT the paste brush), as it is usually trapped air pockets that cause bubbles and blisters in the finished covering, as the covering/paper dries.
