A Game-Changer With a Learning Curve—but So Worth It
I was a little hesitant to try menstrual discs, but I’m really glad I gave Softdisc a chance. These have been a total game-changer. They offer great protection for both heavy and light days, and I love that I can go up to 12 hours without having to think about it. That said, there is definitely a learning curve. I wouldn’t recommend these for someone who is new to menstruation or still getting used to their body, but once you get the hang of insertion and removal, they’re easy to use, leak-free (as long as they’re inserted correctly), and honestly, you can’t even feel them. The first time I used one, there was definitely a moment of panic: “How am I going to get this out?” Take a breath, relax, and bear down—it will naturally begin to move forward. Then hook the edge of the disc with your middle finger and pull it out horizontally to minimize spills. For removal, I typically wear a disposable glove. After removing the disc with my gloved hand, I slowly pull the glove off over the disc, fully encasing it before tossing it in the trash. This method has made the process quick, easy, and surprisingly mess-free. I’ve worn these while swimming and during high-intensity workouts without any issues—no leaks or shifting. They’ve also been discreet and comfortable during intimacy. Neither my partner nor I could feel it, and the experience remained mess-free. (As a reminder, these do not prevent STIs.) Overall, Softdiscs are a great alternative to tampons or pads, especially for people looking for something low-maintenance with longer wear time. If you're comfortable with your body and open to learning something new, I highly recommend giving them a try.

My new favorite period discs
I only started using disposable menstrual discs a few months ago, but I'm hooked. I wouldn't say I enjoy my period now, but I don't dread it the way I did back when I used pads, or even when I used to use tampons. Before finding period discs, I thought that tampons with the plastic applicators were the best invention ever. However, I enjoy my 8+ hours of sleep, which means I had to set an alarm for 4am to change my tampon in the middle of the night. For a while, I tried disposable incontinence underwear for overnight and not only are they embarrassingly obvious (my husband liked to tease me for wearing diapers), no matter what brand I tried, they don't breathe. You can try putting a cotton panty liner inside them, but it's not very comfortable in the summer. I then tried period underwear for overnight, but I often needed to add a pad, which would always move, despite the wings, and would seem to leak, despite how long the pad was. ENTER DISPOSABLE DISCS! I was weirded out by menstrual cups, and there's no way I'm going to sanitize a reusable thing in a kitchen pan or wash it on-the-go in a public bathroom. I've recently switched to the Softdisc brand because 1) it's the most available at local stores when I run out and 2) I find the combination of flexibility and firmness of the rim to be the most easy to insert and the most comfortable. To me, comfort means: 1) not feeling the menstrual product (to me, pads are uncomfortable and a thing of the past, and tampons can hurt, especially if you're in a pinch and need to use a cardboard applicator.) 2) I've also tried a few different disposable discs and these are the best fit. 3) Insertion: there's no front notch or weird way you need to pinch the disc to insert it. You just fold it like a tampon shape, push it up, and use a finger to push the rim behind your pubic bone. It may take a few times to figure out the learning curve, but it's so worth it. 4) You don't have to remove it and replace it with a new one when you go to the bathroom! What I disliked about tampons was having to replace it every time I peed. I was pretty thrilled when I started using another type of disposable disc that self-emptied when you pee, but it was difficult to reinsert it afterwards (not to mention messy and a bit scary). I also didn't care to reinsert it in a public place. I felt as though the chance of leaking was greater since the disc had a mind of its own. 5) So far, I haven't had any leaks (fingers crossed!) With the soft disc brand, it stays up there until you remove it, so I don't worry about needing to bring tampons if I go out or the disc shifting and leaking while I'm doing housework or taking a walk. 6) Cost! This entire bag is just a few dollars more than the box of 14 at your local store, but contains 24! That's equivalent to over 120 tampons! Plus, if you do subscribe & save with amazon, you get an even better deal and you can stock up. 7) The discs are flexible to insert and to not feel them, but they're rigid enough to relieve my cramps. I used to get horrible cramps and couldn't get out of bed for 1-2 full days per period. Now, I can do everything I want to, without feeling like I have to hold back.

Comfortable, Reliable, and a Game-Changer for My Period
I’ve tried a lot of period products, and the Softdisc Menstrual Discs have quickly become my favorite. They’re super comfortable to wear — I honestly forget they’re even there. The capacity is impressive, holding the equivalent of 5 super tampons, which gives me great confidence, especially on heavy days. The 12-hour leak protection really works, letting me go about my day and even sleep worry-free. I also love that they’re a discreet alternative to tampons, pads, and cups. Cleanup is easy, and they’re really convenient for active days or when I want to avoid inserting anything deeply. Plus, knowing they’re HSA/FSA eligible is a nice bonus. Highly recommend if you want something comfortable and dependable!

Best thing since sliced bread!!!!
I don’t remember life without these!!! Seriously best invention ever for women to use as tampon and pad alternative. Perfect for light to moderate flow days. Super comfortable once you get comfy with insertion and removal. I love that I can just toss in the trash and not have to sanitize and store…

Great Feminine Product
I have been using Soft Discs for probably 5 years now and I'll never go back! I love the fact that I only change it twice a day, once every 12 hours. I can go all day at work without having to worry about it. They do self-empty if you are having a heavier flow, so don't freak out if you go to the bathroom and have "leaking". When I'm done doing my business, I do a Kegel to seat the disc again and then I don't have any leakage while I'm moving about my day. It's helped make my cramps way less painful and my period is only 3-4 days now. *PRO TIP: If you have fancy nails or if the idea of handling a used product grosses you out then use a disposable glove!

BEST OPTION FOR PERIODS EVER!
Love these! On my heavy flow day, I only have to take the disc out 1x over 12hrs! When you use the restroom, you may see blood in the toilet, but its not leaking, its just your body causing the cup to bend as you push to pee and it releases some blood. I think thats a good thing because the cup will continue to support me leak free all day long. Highly recommend these to any woman who menstrates!
