Can it be used for drinking water?

Seems sanitary It's hard plastic. I would think that it could be used anywhere you would use just a garden hose. There is no automatic shut off with out adding something else to the system.

Will this work to measure the gallons that I need to drain out of a fish tank? I need to change 20 gallons of water when I do my water changes.
