Still Delighted!
Wow, this product seems to polarise opinions. Well, I've had it for a couple of weeks now, so can't speak for long-term reliability, but I wanted to give a quick opinion on the installation gripes that some have experienced... Carrying the beast up my narrow staircase wasn't easy, but once I had it in position, I really must say that it was super-easy to install. I'm saying this with a reasonable amount of IT knowledge... I don't work in IT, but I'm aware, if that makes sense. I guess the trickiest thing for me to try to get right was getting the path to my NAS storage right, so that I could scan documents onto it. Well, it was honestly really easy. I knew my passwords, and the IP address of the NAS, and that was that. Now the computers I have in the house can open the scans folder and find anything that's been scanned. Speaking of scanning, the speed is incredible! That the scanner can scan both sides of a document in the feeder at once is, frankly, amazing. Sure, the toner cartridges you get don't have a massive capacity, but so far, I have to say I'm amazed that they're able to sell this printer for just over £300. Amazing! December 2021 Update I’ve owned this printer/scanner for around 18 months now, and am still delighted with it. I’m on my fourth set of non-Xerox branded toner cartridges, which work really well, and I don’t think I’ve had a single paper jam. One thing I noticed - and countless others experienced this too - was a high-pitched whine from a capacitor whenever the printer went into power saving mode. It was getting pretty irritating, but over time has faded away, to the point that it’s no longer audible at all (I heard stories of other people having power supply units replaced by engineers). So, I’m still absolutely delighted, and still absolutely amazed at the price. August 2023 Update I didn’t use the printer for a number of months over a winter, where it sat in a room that wasn’t heated. Perhaps because of this, it now occasionally prints pages that are completely useless, with the toner either banding on the page, or big ‘smudged’ sections. I suspect it’s my own fault, but it is only occasional, and I still think the printer represents great value.

Better than expected. Also much taller and heavier.
I bought this printer for my home office to replace a SOHO colour inkjet. This printer is for a bigger office, not for SOHO. It works brilliantly for me, but I expected a similar size like my previous printers and was surprised. Should have checked the dimensions first. This printer is much taller and really heavy. If you are thinking to buy it, find the size and weight on the product details page, and check if it will fit. I had to place it somewhere else, not where my old printer used to sit,. Printing is like in most lasers, quick, quiet, nice and smooth. For some reasons, the product detail page does not tell you all the nice features. Here are some points I did not know: Scanning is better than what I expected. It scans both sides of a page in one go. I did not expect that. Scanning is much quicker this way, obviously. Toner cartridges, drums can be replaced independently. PostScript support - I use Linux, wife uses a Mac, with PostScript there is no problem with driver support. Negative things: After power-up, booting takes a while. Not extremely long, but noticeably longer than all other printers I had. There are a few settings that are well hidden. After power on, it prints a page. This can be disabled, but it's not easy to find where. On the plus side, when I emailed Xerox support, the next day they answered and told me what to change and where. Like I wrote, I think this printer was not designed with home offices and small offices in mind. I think it is not meant to be switched off - eliminating the long wait for the startup and the configuration page printing. Also, there are some features (like sending scanned documents in email), which require settings that will probably baffle people who had SOHO printers before. I can set up my own mail server so I am OK with that, but if you are not computer savvy and you don't have an IT guy in the office where this printer will sit, you will not be able to use every advanced feature.

Great Printer, but tricky to setup
Things you need to know: If you're an Android user then the Mopria Print and Scan apps are great. Mopria is an alliance of the big printer manufacturers to provide 'universal standards' and it makes using the print and scan facilities easy. They give you printing and scanning from your smart phone. Not sure what you do if you're an iOS user? The wireless connection is good for printing and also supports scanning from a PC using Xerox software.. The Mopria app also works well. I haven't yet investigated other options such as 'scan to desktop'. The printer can be setup to scan to your Gmail account, but again it's fiddly. If using wifi then then the primary connection on the printer needs to be set up as 'WiFi' on the printer. Your Gmail account will also need to be setup with two factor authentication and then a 'less secure app' password can be generated (from your Google account) especially for the printer. The printer automatically prints on two sides if wanted. The scanner feeder will scan both sides if wanted. The 2 to 2 sided scanning and printing facility is great for the money. The admin password for Xerox printers is '1111', but for first time use you need to use the printer S/N instead. Restart the printer and use the S/N. Another GOTCHA! Overall a great printer for the money once setup up, but a few hurdles on the way. 7 months down the line and the printer is still working well with no connectivity issues.

Lovely spec but poor execution and operability
Prints great when it works but has awful loud coil whine when in standby so have to keep switched off or put in another room that you are not workng in. This is due to a known design flaw in one of main printer motherboard components that Xerox wont fix as they have no new replacement board. Printer really super heavy and hard to join to wifi sometimes and drops out off network often. Scanning function to make pdfs to send to your email server like gmail virtually impossible to get working and poor US based support to help fix anything. For overall spec it should be a lot better but if can pick up a cheap returned one for 200 quid it may be worth it as it does have a lot of features if you can love with some of its clear flaws

Excellent printer, great facilities, nightmare software
The 6515DNI is a great printer but a pig to configure. It seems to be an SME printer with full-blown corporate software designed to be configured by the IT department. I'm no novice - I understand networks and have built my own PCs - but even I struggled. The PC drivers are also difficult to set up as it needs an application as well as a regular driver. The printer is big but seems robust. I bought it as a home printer, as I'd had a previous single-sided Xerox colour laser that had lasted well. Whatever you do, don't make my mistake & change the default password and forget to write it down. I remembered it repeatedly, for days and days while slowly getting the config right then, when I needed to log in weeks l later, it had gone. This was during lockdown & Xerox were able to help me out with a reset code but I gather this is normally a process that needs an engineer callout.

So far, so good
Was aware of various negative reviews concerning issues with the scanner unit. They appear to suggest, these issues are caused by a firmware update, so have taken the decision not to update the firmware and had no issues to date. The printer is now a discontinued product by Xerox, but it's age does have the significant advantage that cheap compatible toner cartridges are available. I object to paying more for toners, than for the printer. Print quality is very good and setup was relatively easy. The few issues being solved by Google searches for solutions. It is early days yet, but so far, more than happy with the purchase.

very bad technical support
Im very happy with the printer but it does stop working on and off .Xerox only proivides one year customer support and after that you are pretty much on your own or they insist you buy a full set of toner to be covered which cost the same as the printer .thats a bity of a rip off .Wish Xerox has a better custiomer service .

Awesome printer, awesome seller
Tired of changing cartridges every time I wanted to print with an inkjet, decided to go with this printer. I used it to print anything, from documents to pictures. Pictures, even in glossy paper are not as bright as an inkjet, but are good enough. Had a little issue with a high pitching noise at the beginning, contacted the seller and he sorted out a Xerox engineer that came to my house and fixed it onsite. A little bit bulky, but worth every penny

Erster Eindruck: sehr GUT

Impresionante impresora a precio inmejorable.
Producto bien embalado

Stampante da ufficio
Stampa e scannerizza bene e velocemente. - Come prima cosa è necessario effettuare l'aggiornamento all'ultima versione del firmware: elimina bug (es. risoluzione DNS) e aggiunge funzionalità (es. stampa via web).
