Pursuing my health on a deeper level. i.e. cellular, blood, etc. Wanting to make sure that I give my body the very best I can and understand what foods and beverages have which impact on me. I'm doing Whole 30 right now before I make the transition to the Keto Lifestyle. I'm very excited and wanted to be able to test my sugar when I have a migraine, feeling lethargic, depressed, etc. so that I could have a more thorough understanding of what is happening in m body. I felt like it would be a tool that would strengthen my resolve! It's easy to use and keeps track of the last 1,000 test results. I went back and forth for a while before buying a ketone blood test kit because of the cost of the strips, but this one was cheap enough to get me to pull the trigger. My wife and I have been using it for a couple of weeks and it has offered excellent insight into our progress with our keto dieting. Specifically I wanted to see how fast we bounce back from cheat days, how alcohol affects ketosis, etc., and this meter has ban stellar. I didnt bother with control solution. I figured that is an unnecessary technicality for a medical device, and have seen nothing to indicate inaccuracies in testing. I’ve used urine strips along side as well, but the blood seems much more accurate from what i would expect to see at any given time. Five stars for a great product at a reasonable price.

Device is good, works as intended. Why the 1-star rating ? If you want 'refills' for the ketone strips, you won't be able to find any. The one listed on Amazon cannot be calibrated correctly (wrong code is given) and they expire in 30 days ( 50 strips ) so you have to use 2/day. See reviews for the strips. Get yourself a Precision XTRA tester - no expiration / coding nonsense.

I bought another blood glucose monitor from CVS and I can definitely tell the difference in quality. This machine as well as the lancing device is much better QUALITY. I was wondering why my blood glucose readings were so high with the other machine when I've kept my carb intake so low. But with machine they seemed so much more . ACCURATE . I've tested my ketone levels as well which seem accurate but I have no baseline. It is very simple to use, although I did watch an instrutional video . The test strips are by far less expensive than any other dual tester so I'm satisfied with my purchase.

This meter works just fine for measure ketone. I'm starting on Keto Diet and need to understand if and when I'm in ketosis. My tests where 2.5~4.0 mmol/L while my wife would show "Lo" because she's not on Keto Diet. So this seems to work well. My confusion right now is if this device can also measure glucose since it said it could. However I cannot find a definitive information on which strip to buy. Also which lancets I can use? I see Care Touch sells additional ketone strips (out of stock as of this review) but can I use other brand? I'm new to this at-home blood test so not too sure how it works. Also, note that as of this writing, the manufacturer's website (caretouchdiabetes) doesn't seem exist (!) . Maybe this is not exactly a great buy after all?

New to keto and wanted to make sure my levels were where they were supposed to be--- My urine strips were always dark purple but I knew those weren't the accurate way to go and figured it was because I don't drink enough water and was dehydrated. After receiving the testing kit I was able to monitor my levels after eating and during different times of the day to know what works for me, it took me a little bit to get my levels where I wanted but now I have been in ketosis for a while and feeling great. Easy to use and now I'm addicted to testing!

I researched alot of different brands before buying this one. This is the first one I've bought as I am new to keto. I was disappointed when I opened it up and COULD NOT for the life of me figure out how to set it up. Very frustrating even with the instructions I could not figure it out. Thought it was a waste of money. I was going to return it and buy the keto mojo brand. BUT when i was at the jeto mojo website, i saw youtube videos on how to set up their meter, AND LO AN BEHOLD the set up is the same. I think basically all the meters are the same. They just have their meter with their brand name on it, After watching the videos I was able to set the meter up in a flash. It was the exact same screens and procedure to set up. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE THE CONTROL TO USE THIS. The meter worked just fine and no problem with mistake strips. So I am keeping the meter for now, seems to be doing its job. Just as everyone has stated before keto strips are more expensive than glucose strips ( i get mine through prescription) but no prescription for keto strips. I am happy to be able to monitor my keto levels, as I am just beginning.

Well that just stinks. I tried the very first strip according to the instructions (calibrating it and all) and it worked just fine. I just tried to do a second test after working out to see if my ketone levels changed at all. I tried to do it with 3 additional strips and all of them read "EF" which is an error means that the test strip was taken out of the device or something (which it wasn't)--I also looked at the directions and calibrated the device each time with the strip they provided in the kit, still no results. AND on top of you can't reinsert the test strip because you'll get another error message that says "EU" which means it won't read an already read test strip. These test strips are expensive!! I don't want to have to waste 3 or 4 to get one reading. I gave up and will probably return this. Either the test strips are fault, or the device is faulty.
