Works wonderfully, assembly was a little confusing. The steps are listed on the store page and come printed in the box, take note that they look like 1,2,3 6,5,4 This threw me a bit. It also came with an extra M5/Tnut which I was confused on what step I missed. Otherwise, this seems like a well machined piece of equipment, and I believe it'll last a long time. The included iron heats up incredibly quickly and has temperature control that my other soldering irons don't - helps to create as little smoke as possible. It's super easy to get straight presses now, in a consistent manner. I was able to press several in a row without tons of re-heat time in between. It's light, but also has some weight which makes pressing a breeze. It comes with the tools you need to assemble as well, so it's a full kit. The best part is that it also includes the heat insert tips! If I had realized, I could've saved some money on a different set I bought. However, the tips I bought fit this iron as well, so I'm not out anything. Finally, it came with a plastic cap piece that's not in the instructions; it goes on top of the vertical tower to cover the exposed aluminum and give it a finished look. Great price, great tool. Would definitely recommend and would buy again if needed.

I was blown away by the quality of this 3DZWMAN Vertical Heat Pressing Machine! The build feels solid and durable, and it performs with precision every time. I’ve used it for a variety of brass inserts (M2 through M8), and the heat set process is smooth and consistent across the board. You definitely get more than your money’s worth with this set — it includes everything you need and then some. I'm putting together a Voron 2.4, which seems to require a gazillion heat inserts. I bought this to make my life easier, and ensure the heat set inserts go in straight. For the most part, this has worked well and been a timesaver, but there was some tweaking involved. Easiest way is to do this as pros and cons: Pros: - Easy to put together. - Wheels on 2040 extrusion work well once you tighten up the eccentric nuts correctly. I'm familiar with this already on my old CR-10S. - I like that you can easily adjust the height of the spring. Some parts are short, some are tall. I find that pulling against the spring makes it challenging to do the short pieces, so I like that I can adjust that spring location with one thumb screw and move it down to reduce the spring tension for the shorter parts. - Soldering iron works okay. No, it's not awesome, but for heat inserts it works just fine. I had to go about 10C hotter than I did on my main soldering iron (I'm running it at 250C for inserts into ABS, could probably go a little hotter). - I've had no issues with the soldering iron coming out of the holder. It seems solidly in there. Cons (reason for 4-star review): - "Verticalness" (squareness) of the soldering iron itself. The physical components (e.g. base and extrusions) are square. However, the soldering clamp is a bit iffy, as the clamps hold the iron on the rubber area instead of something that is solid and square. After building it, I eyeballed the iron with a machinist square. The iron was square in one direction (across the bed plate) but off a few degrees in the other (looking towards the vertical 2040 extrusion). I shoved some wire as a "shim" on one side of the mount to make it more vertical and not angled. Still not perfect, but good enough. - Although the included heat set insert tips do work, I found them to be a little tight in the inner portion of the heat set insert. I preferred my old heat insert tips, as those have a little more tolerances and aren't as tight in the heat set. Frankly, this is probably just personal preference. Overall, I'm happy with it and have been successfully using it for my build. It is nice to not have to worry about keeping a soldering iron straight and steady in your hands to ensure a straight heat insert. Just make sure the iron is actually vertical before you start with those gazillion heat inserts.....

This vertical heat‑set insert tool has been a solid addition to my 3D‑printing setup. I'm actually pretty good about installing heat inserts by hand, but I had a project where I needed to install over 50 - 4mm inserts at the same time, and I decided to see if this would cut the my labor down, and just make it less tedious. This heat press machine actually saved me a lot of time, and fatigue while completing, I actually had some fun doing it, instead of kind of dreading it. Assembly wasn't too difficult, it was easier than say, putting together some of that DYI furniture. With the included digital iron, you can set the temp precisely, and it holds that temp quite well. Being able to set the depth with a stopper means your inserts are going to be way more consistent than you can do by hand!! I like that I can just leave my main sized tip on the included iron, where I then have my previous iron available to use for quick one-offs that I need to install by hand. The vertical rail action is pretty smooth, but you kind of need to find the "sweet-spot" on where you push down on the bar, else it can bind up, but that only took a few seconds of testing before I put a part in to figure out. The different sized tips are also included & can be unscrewed and changed out without removing the soldiering iron, but since they are super hot, you'll have to wait for them to cool down before you can do so. That fact alone means that if you are doing 5 inserts of 5 different sizes, it will be a lot quicker to do them by hand. Where 5 of the same size, this is where it really shines! Note: the soldiering iron can easily be removed and used by hand also, so if you don't already have one, this is versatile enough to use it either way! Win-Win! I can say I highly recommend this for any project where you need to do multiple, consistent inserts. Once you have put it together, you can pull it out and be knocking them out within minutes.

So far so good. I will say the instructions are definitely lacking in several areas but I was able to assemble it with minimal trouble. The red button on the soldering iron must be held for a few seconds to turn on (also no instructions provided for the iron). Smooth motion and great value for money in my opinion as it is all metal construction except for the iron holder being plastic. I modified a tip holder I found online and added a tslot nut to the side of it so you can hold all the tips easily (you can find it on printables). One thing that was slightly annoying is it didn't say it included m2-m8 tips so I purchased another set that I now need to return as it did in fact include all the standard sizes. For the price its hard to beat considering this iron sells for about $25, and the tip set is like $8 so you get the frame for roughly $17. There are tons of 3d printed options for a heat press insert available online for free but for the price its really hard to compare to a printed version.

Very well built and thought out tool! You might be looking at this listing suspiciously and about to click out of the listing bc it only has one (albeit totally amazing) review as of 11/20/2024, but WAIT! I was happy I took the risk on this one…if it makes you feel better this seller also has another model with lots of good reviews. I chose this model bc I liked the extra support axis (it looked sturdier) and the fact that the it goes higher and leaves room for larger 3d prints than some of the other designs. Those features are well worth the slight increase in price for me. Design is really well thought out IMO. I like that the base isn’t super huge so the footprint is relatively small in my crammed work space Here’s what I think: All the materials are great quality for the price point. All are metal…not the cheapy plastic-y metal that’s often on cheaper amazon items, but real metal and most of the screws look like a good quality stainless to me. Only thing I think that’s plastic is soldering iron clamp, but that just makes sense- you wouldn’t want to clamp a soldering iron between a metal clamp. As a bonus, The base is magnetic, which is helpful as sometimes I like to use my really strong rare earth magnets to keep smaller pieces in place. Only The only really minor thing that wasn’t perfect is 1 of the screw holes (out of the 10-12 ish?) was just a little off…but in my experience, that’s going to be the case for any of these at this price point. Had zero effect and honestly, if this was perfectly machined it would probably be triple the price. This is a great value for what you get…so buy it already! You need more info you say? Oh alright you greedy heat set fiends… This comes with some fairly decent printed instructions which was great, but instead, I definitely recommend you use the instructions video the seller put in the listing photos- it has a higher level of detail which is really helpful. Keep in mind that the video didn’t show up when I looked for it on the listing in the app, but you just have copy link/paste it into your phone’s browser….watch till the end! The seller is awesome as well, I had to contact to ask kind of a weird question about potentially using it for a totally other purpose. Their reply was very quick and was extremely helpful. They went above and beyond and obviously care about providing good service and products (which is sadly not always true on Amazon), and I’d definitely buy from them again in a heartbeat. Sadly, this was paid for with my own money…so I have zero incentive to lead you astray… of course if Amazon wants to pay me for this review, I would be totally cool with that. But unfortunately for me, it seems my integrity is in tact on this one…at least for the moment.

As mentioned in other reviews, the slop is pretty bad. It would be very challenging to get a 90 degree insert using the tool as it was shipped. This is for my 3d printer, so the solution is fairly easy. I printed an insert to go down inside the extruded aluminum rail so that the wheels ride on the printed piece. I printed a piece long enough to span the height of the aluminum guide rail and now have guaranteed 90 degrees on the soldering gun. It would be so simple for the manufacturer to drill holes for the extruded aluminum mount so that there is no slop in the first place, so I wonder why they did not do that. The printer generated the tan piece, as notated by the red arrow. That little piece takes every bit of the slop out. I guess since it was so inexpensive, that should count for something. Now, I am quite pleased with the precision. I want to point out that the soldering gun is plenty good enough, and the extra heads for the inserts is very handy. It is a complete set of soldering tips for 3d printed brass inserts.

Alles leuk en aardig, maar wat moet een Nederlandse klant met een elektrisch apparaat waar een dikke UK stekker (K-Type, niet CEE) aan zit? Nu heb ik zelf een stekker moeten monteren, niet zo moeilijk, maar het was niet nodig geweest. Dus voor de volgende keer: Nederland gebruikt de Euro stekkers (niet geaard)...

Really easy assembly, love that it can be modular, works reliably for moderate to light tasks

De bodemplaat past helemaal niet. Zou 4 gaten in de breedte moeten hebben. Maar heeft 2 gaten in de lengte van de plaat. Dat past dus helemaal niet. Zo raar. Weet niet hoe ik dit moet gaan fixen. Waarschijnlijk zelf gaten boren. Hoewel het best wel zwaar plaatmateriaal is? Raar zeg. En ook heel stom.

The press jig is good and sturdy but it came with a soldering iron I didn't need, I didn't mind that but the iron is not for UK power or UK sockets. I did fit a UK 3 pin plug to it but it didn't work. As I said tho, I already had an iron but I would of preferred it was less expensive and no iron supplied. Anyway, it is a good piece of kit for inserts, they go in nice and straight. I did however, have to make a modification for the spring, it uses a tension spring from the top of the upright and this prevented me from getting taller parts under the iron, I've modified it for a compression spring arrangement to make it even more useful for me at least.
