From the manufacturer Bostik Cementone Mortar Plasticiser For smooth, easy to work mortar Bostik Mortar Plasticiser (formerly known as Cementone Cemplas Mortar Plasticiser) is a blend of modified lignin based surface active agents free from chlorides. It improves the workability of mortar without the addition of lime. It helps reduce grittiness to provide a smooth easy to work mortar with improved durability and protection against frost. It also reduces the water content of the mortar. Suitable uses Bostik Mortar Plasticiser is suitable for use to improve mortars for applications such as; bricklaying, blockwork, and rendering. Coverage A 5 litre bottle is sufficient to plasticise 55 – 58 mixes based upon 25kg of cement. Review: Great value - A good product
Review: Happy builder! - I used to be perfectly happy using my local branch of Travis Perkins' own brand of plasticiser (which they still stock but only in 25L tubs, which is a pain to decant), but then they started to stock Everbuild plasticiser, instead, which is complete and total garbage. The only brand of SBR that i have ever used is also by Cementone and it is truly A1 when it comes to quality and so i thought why not give this a go? Simply put, i will never again buy any plasticiser other than this. Super concentrated, so you only need a tiny bit and it makes the most lovely, rich mortar. Very impressed.

I am a novice mortar mixer so poorly experienced to comment, but I followed the instructions and it seemed to work. I didn't want to mix and use a batch without it to find out!
